When the other person will be taking your life soon, fire back and kill him in self defense. Same can apply in a third party sense, to defend the life of another person as well. Anything else is just murder. The bible will be your best source of moral righteousness on this issue and it will agree with my statement. EDIT: Your question does not state what or who you kill. Killing animals for food is also ok.

ONLY when the killer and the one being killed are BOTH officially recognized soldiers in a U.N. sanctioned and authorized war ... and they are in an officially recognized war zone, on an officially recognized battle ground, in an officially recognized battle, and both have received official orders to kill the enemy ... and even then, killing is still wrong, but under those circumstances, I feel it would be acceptable.

I would definitely not think twice about killing someone who was trying to harm my children. And if possible, I would probably torture them before I killed them. For my kids, you know. They would definitely deserve it!

It is only ok to kill other humans when it is in self defence or revenge for them killing/hurting one of your children.

Mainly only for self defense, but what if you found out someone in another country stole your identity? And then you realize it's a country where a murder could be justified by what the person did and there was even a chance you could get to the country and find the person.

When the person who has killed has taken more than 1 life and shows no signs of stopping or regret.

Taking the life of another being can never be right. Only under extreme circumstances such as these would I consider it. The person has killed innocents and may kill more unless stopped. The person is directly threatening my family, friends or loved ones with physical death or violence that could lead to death.(guns, knives or other weapons) The person is involved in the direct sale and abduction of children or women for the purpose of profit and sex trade. The person is a professional and would not hesitate to take my life or the life of another. The person invaded my country, property and home with the intention of killing me or my family and destroying my way of life. (No, I'm not talking about Iraq or Vietnam) Questionable and depending entirely on the individual and their personal circumstance, a person who is suffering with long term pain with no hope of recovery like coma or debilitating terminal illness. This one, even with the person's permission would be the most difficult.

No one will ever hurt my friends, family, animals or a woman with me around. I consider killing excessive force but needed in very specific situations. I've had the misfortune to be in those situations where I've had to kill. After the first time, I learned to disable someone rather than kill them.

Convicted terrorists deserve to be killed without trial. Burglars have no rights once they enter your house so I would kill them on the spot. If a country threatened another with nuclear attacks then they deserve no mercy.
