  • as soon as a dog goes into heat they are ready to have puppys, how do you think they go about it in the wild, theres no chris hanson to catch a predator in the dog world
  • There is no need for you to worry about the health of your possibly pregnant pup, but you should be prepared for the possibility of her not being ready emotionally to care for newborn puppies. Just like there are young humans that aren't ready to be parents, there are dogs who aren't ready, too. You'll have to keep a good eye on everyone to make sure they are properly whelped and taught cleanliness and manners. Mom might not be up to it. Best of luck.
  • 12 months is awful early for a bitch to have puppies. She's still a puppy herself. If this just happened, I would take her to the vet and get her an overdose of estrogen (it's a shot) that will prolong her cycle and prevent the pregnancy from taking place. Even if she hasn't ovulated yet, sperm can live up to 5-10 days, in which case they will still be viable once she does ovulate. Please talk to your vet ASAP for some advice and maybe other options. Good luck!
