I know Here in Montreal they are great people, i like to go in to their stores, it's a family business the parents and the children are working together and try to please you so their business grows, not like other that work only for the money. i like them.

I grew up with Italians as neighbors and they were great people ...very friendly and open ...here in Australia we have a very very large Italian sections and thats what helps make Australia such a great place

I think Italy is gorgeous and I love Italian food. I don't really know any Italians, personally, but I am sure they are just like other people. Some are good and some are bad.

Italy is high on my list of places to see before I die... I know a lot of people of Italian Heritage... but most are New Yorkers, and they come with their own set of rules. I've met only one person FROM Italy... in a line at Sea World. She was rather nice.

I've worked for an Italian man for over 7 years. He's also a very good friend of mine as well. Very nice and sweet. He's hard working, almost to a fault. I've met several of his business partners from Italy as well, and they also seem like good people.

I am Italian but never visited Italy. I think we are good people with open hearts for everyone. Every Italian I have known has opened their home to anyone of color or creed. The first thing they do is offer you food:)...whether or not your hungry they will feed you anyway.

Wherever I've been in Italy, I've felt very comfortable and quite a home! I've been treated well by the people, I've loved what I've seen of the cities, and of course the food and wine is wonderful. It is expensive, but European cities are all over now... the countryside is still good though! I think if you don't walk around looking like a tourist, you're OK! Ti amo tutti! You sound as though you're not enamoured of them yourself. Expecting bad reviews?

ive been told by a good source, thats travelled all over the world that Italy is the most beautiful country of all, i personally think Italian men are extremely attractive! :D

lol Babycakes thinks she's ITALIAN Italian. I live a little bit north of Italy, in Poland. I have been to Croatia and Spain, which is in the Mediterranean region and they tend to have similar cultures. Italy seems very laid back. From what I've heard (as in people who drive there frequently), they tailgate on the road a lot, are pretty poor when it comes to geographical knowledge (this might be a generalization) kinda like most folks in America, even European geography! I heard a story where some hot shot college professor (Italian) thought that people in Poland speak Russian, or something like that lol. Some think that they just don't give a flying hoot about other EU nations, and are very ethnocentric. But that's a secondhand opinion. I get some Italian TV channels, and they seem like a country like any other. I have never known an Italian, myself personally, so I'm not presenting MY opinion because I don't have one, at least an educated one. I've met tons of so-called "Italians" in America like Babycakes here on AB, but most are too Americanized to make an opinion of their country of origin/heritage. So hey, if you wanna go there, GO FOR IT!!! Europe is a great place to visit.

My son took my wife and i to Italy for ten days. I was amazed at how the Italian people love their children. their children come first. Their wine comes second. we visited(and tasted)so many vineyards, that it blows my mind to think about it. The country is gorgeous. The air is clean and fresh. Gasoline is like pure gold. The people were very friendly and willing to help us find our way. McDonalds coffee sucked, but the food was good. It really surprised me that the spaghetti was not as i expected. The ice cream was fantastic. Overall, we love Italy and its people. I thank my son for taking us.

Beautiful country. I miss the calamari and pizza I used to love when stationed in Sardinia. Never learned the language, but the people I met were always very nice.

I found Italy to be fascinating. I loved the pace of life in Rome, but glad I didn't have to live that fast every day. Their stamina is amazing. Wonderful people and beautiful country. :)

Well, I've never been there, but I know their food is great, and my dad (who lived there for a while) said everyone there is very friendly. I'd like to go there someday.

i have never been to italy but vows to visit it sooner than later. i've got a romantic opinion on italy and its people. i appreciate the richness of their culture and the lovely accent they have

My childhood was spent living in a small suburb of Philadelphia that was largely inhabitated by immigrant Italian families (all here the RIGHT way, LEGALLY by the way!) and their American-born children. All our neighbors and all my friends, big and little, were Italians...but were also the best, most patriotic, Americans you could ever want to find. I, of Irish ancestry, could not have had a more wonderful first 20 years of my life! I'm way up there now, 70, but had the opportunity to visit Italy several times...as well as some 31 other countries in this world. Italy has it all. And I can't recall another country whose people were more friendly and loving than the Italians I have known, both here and there. A lot of those countries I visited? They were quite nice...but they sure would be a lot nicer if they had a lot more more Italians running their show! :-)

Seems to be not a lot of love for the Italian community in Perth, particular amongst the older generation. Even if it isn't particularly negative, there's still an us and them attitude.

I'd love to visit Italy. I've heard wonderful things about it. I have known a few Italians who emigrated to the USA when they were teenagers. Very good people.

I think of two things: grape-stomping (wine), and pasta. both amazing, both tasty. :) I have never been there, so I do not feel like I am in a position to give an accurate opinion. But from what I hear, I can't wait to go!

All societies have good and bad points. I have found Italian men slightly more flirty than some others, and Italian women to be wonderfully warm family oriented and awesome cooks!

Well, I'm Italian and I can honestly say that we're a sexy bunch that can cook. =P

Nice meeting ya'll. I am from Italy and " Ya'll" it's something I learned living in USA. So, I am really really from Italy, and well thanks for the compliments to my Country. The food is really great but I guess it's very different from the American Italian food. A few years ago when I came over here, I couldn't believe that they put garlic everywhere even in the bread, never heard about fettuccine Alfredo or spaghetti and meatballs. Hope not to disappoint you but...that's the truth
