  • I don't use a microwave, but friends of mine had one that would turn on by itself when nobody was in the kitchen. You would just hear it 'microwaving' all of a sudden! That would cause ME to replace a microwave!
  • Why would I replace it if it's working? If my microwave is working, I will keep it until it dies.
  • I had to replace one recently because it started to rust out and fall apart.
  • After you discover something died inside it??? Or maybe after the microwave plate cracks???
  • When you learn to cook without it.....:)
  • When it starts taking longer than usual to heat something. I just recently replaced an old 500W oven with a 1000W one because it was taking ever more time to do simple things like pop popcorn. (I suspect the magnetron tube was dying.)
