An inch and a half of hair represent roughly 3 months of hair growth. So if you wear your hair an inch and a half long, you'll want to stop smoking at least 3 months before the test. If your heair is 3 inches long, you'll need to stop smoking at least 6 months before the test. Since everyone's ahir grows at a different rate, these are only approximations. Longer would be better. Basically, you need to stop smoking early enough that all the hair with the pot metabolites has grown out and been trimmed off.
