  • There are several ways to try to locate old friends who have moved. One thing to try is to send a letter to the last address you have for him. Even though the Post Office won't forward it, sometimes when the letter is returned, it will have a sticker on it that says "Forwarding Order Expired" with the forwarding address on it. You'll also want to search the internet. You'll need to be a little creative and draw on whatever you know about your friend. If you know of any school he attended, you can check with sites like classmates.com. If he was in the military, try sites like vetfinder.com. There are also a rapidly growing number of sites that help track down old friends, like reunion.com. Or if there's any professional organization he might belong to, you might want to contact them. (They probably won't give you his address, but you might be able to get them to forward a letter to him.) Some of these sites may have fees involved, so be sure to carefully read the details when you register for any of them. Also, many of these sites stay in business by selling your e-mail address to mailing lists. Rather than spending the time reading the fine print to find how to opt out of mailing lists, just set up a free e-mail account for yourself at someplace like yahoo.com, and use that address to register for any of these sites. That way your home e-mail won't start getting spammed from your search. To find many of these sites, go to google.com and search for "lost friend locator," "old friend finder," "classmate finder," "veteran finder," or any other combination of terms that comes to mind. Some of these sites will also let you register to be found, so that if your friend is looking for you the same way, he'll be able to find you. Good luck!
  • I recently used www.PeopleFinders.com to find my neighbor who had moved away a long time ago, and had since lost touch with when he and my father had a falling out. This website, though you have to pay, is extremely helpful. If all you know is the person's name, as well as where they used to live, or if you have a ballpark area of where they moved to, can provide you with all the information you need. You can find out where they have lived, how many times they moved, who they may be related too, etc. I highly suggest it!
  • Hey! All answers here are excellent, but they miss something essential. From a boy's perspective (I'm sorry for the 'offensive language', but some guys need this, otherwise they'll never understand it. Heck! Some guys never understand the subtle and intelligent English proficiency that women use!). Fact 1: You were in love with her Mistake 1: You were in love when she still had a boyfriend. You had two options: a) steal her (the world is hard yes... I know, but that's the 'game'). b) don't steal her and wait until you win the lottery. Fact 2: You are her friend and not her BOYfriend. I'm sorry to tell you this but: women need a lot of attention and hey! You just fell for it! Fact 3: Suddenly everything was 'fixed'! Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! She probably didn't even LOVE you. I bet your conversation topics were all about her boyfriend (unless they weren't: see mistake 1: option a). You are her friend not her boyfriend Fact 4: Go find another woman. Yes I mean this. Where is this going to? Chances are higher that you'll win the lottery. In love with your best female friend that has a boyfriend? Hello World! Wake up! Wake up! You are not in the Matrix... Conclusion: although you cannot choose who you love, choose someone that is single!!!! And you'll never waste your time again. Yours Faithfully, Dragoneater
