Riding my bicycle to morning martial arts class, then to regular elementary school all day, then back to martial arts for an evening class, then home ... a long day of learning for a young child. I remember being put on the honour roll for being able to learn and remember what I thought was simple arithmetic and mathematics. I also remember being both praised for my exceptionally good physical condition and laughed at for not knowing anything about common team sports (so much into martial arts and health sciences that I had no time for playing the games that the other kids played).

The first day of school was always exciting because I got to see all my friends from the previous year. Back then, a class list of all the students were posted on the front door with a list for school supplies. My sister and I looked forward to finding out who our teacher was and who was in our class. Also, I remember all the holidays spent in school. It was really something to look forward to, especially Halloween when we still paraded through other classrooms and into the gym. Nowadays is such a bore! :(
