Does compulsary insurance cover windshields?

In the UK, we call it "Third Party" insurance, it only covers what you hit not you, so no it doesen't. Not sure about the US, but I seriously doubt it.

Compulsory insurance will cover all liabilities you have to other people that result from operating your vehicle. Thus, if you damages somebody elses windshield it would be covered. If you damage your own then you are not.

Negative. you will have to pay for the windshield, out of your pocket.
