  • From "IMPEACH HIM (right after he gets sworn in)" to the Steele Dossier that was as phony as Biden's election to a ridiculous phone call "parody" that only became a "parody" when the transcripts of the call were made public - proving Adam Schiff to be a liar to the mail-in ballots forced on voters because of a health crisis that was engineered from gain-of-function research (that one of the primary funders continues to deny) to a second impeachment attempt against the only non-sitting President in the history of the world, to the illegal raid on his home - you people have become so desperate to remove him from office that your bag of tricks would rival anything Wile E Coyote could ever come up with, watching your exploits is like watching a cartoon. You believe your next success lies around the next corner as the world laughs at you for being so obliviously incompetent and transparent in your efforts to save your corruption. Why do you think other countries have lost so much respect for America - because Biden is such a strong and effective leader? 😆

Hey Bugs Bunny - You still didn't answer my question. What is the legal basis of Trump's argument that he has the right to own the 11,000 documents seized at Mira Lago?

And Biden didn't try to buy Greenland.

Have you noticed how interest in this latest "Let's Get Trump" fiasco has diminished so much that even Democrats are not pushing anything? Watching general Youtube videos, there was, at one time, nothing else to see but installment after installment of the current "Invasion of Maralago" Saga and "Impeachment Is Back On The Table!" rally cry. And all you can do is dust off your worn-out "legal basis" rhetoric that obviously has no foundation - or else the Dems would have literally made a federal case out of it by now. "Buying Greenland"? LOL - it doesn't take much to entertain you, does it?
  • Presumably his lawyer advised him to make such a claim, hoping that such a claim would confound the law regarding such matters. The "legal basis" is probably that Trump was legally given possession of said documents. (Of course, the prosecution might argue that possession was no longer legal once Trump left the office of President.)
  • The docs belong to the US Govt especially the Top Secret ones.
  • Trump did not hide that he had the documents. How about your pal Sandy Berger, Clinton's National Security Advisor, who stuffed documents down his pants, or Madame Secretary Hillary Clinton that transmitted top secret things on a personal unsecured server and destroyed the evidence when it was subpoenaed?

Linus - actually he did hide them. He said they were 'Newspaper Clippings" https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/3647649-trump-attorney-told-national-archives-boxes-at-mar-a-lago-only-held-news-clippings-reports/

And Linus - Hillary lost an election over her emal. And so did Trump for trying to buy Greenland.

That's not why Trump lost. Besides: we OUGHT to buy Greenland if it were for sale. In "the long view", national ownership of land (territory) is priceless: strategically, economically, etc. Several times in U.S. history the U.S. has paid what seemed to be outrageous sums of money for territory...and it has paid off in the long run - tremendously - every single time.

Except Greenland isn't an unclaimed, uninhabited territory. It has a well known and established population and government. You can't "purchase" a country like you purchase a cow. Its illegal. Nobody asked the Eskimos whether they wanted to become part of the United States. And you can't purchase people. It's called slavery and its illegal too. Besides being illegal it's also embarrassing to have to explain this to brain-dead conservatives. You must be a real hit at Halloween parties.

And btw, what Territories has the US purchased? We got Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, Samoa and the Virgin Islands as part of peace treaties we signed Spain. We paid 20M for the Philippines but they wanted to become part of the US after the US helped them against the Japanese. >>>And BTW the US and the Philippines had a war over Philippine independence. It was called the Philippine American war. Check it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine%E2%80%93American_War

Louisiana (French - 1803), Florida (Spain - 1819), part of Mexico (that part we like to call Texas - 1848), and Alaska (Russia - 1867). Then there was the Gadsen Purchase from Mexico - a 29,670 square mile portion of Mexico that later became part of Arizona and New Mexico. ($10 million - paid in 1854). We don't own Cuba, but we do pay rent to use it (Guantanamo), nor do we own the Panama Canal, but we do pay rent to use it.

None of the places you mentioned were countries. They were territories. They were inhabited by Indians and pioneers. None of them had an army to defend them. They were able to be purchased because they had no army to say they couldn't. And yes, we had a war to get Texas. It was called the Mexican American war. 1846 -48. The only way we could have purchased Greenland was in a war with Finland.
  • Once orange hair-orange jumpsuit stopped being president the docs don't belong to him., There;s been absolutely no proof trump won the election.

So he's saying he's still president and still entitled to the documents? Is that true?
    • mugwort
As as I can tell frump claims he's pres. and entitled to the docs
  • I can do what I want to do. That's his position.
