That depends on the "society". More accurately: it depends on the particular "company" - that is: the particular group of individuals. The company I currently keep: yes, indisputably. Anyone with the slightest bit of sense realizes quite quickly that they are being lied to, and lied to blatantly. Such people do not become the friends of the company I (unfortunately) currently keep.

Yes. People of higher intelligence meet with more resistance from the ones who must rely on the simpletons to support them.
