'Alarming finding': 30 percent of Republicans say violence may be needed to save U. S., poll shows Almost one-third of Republicans say they think violence may be necessary to solve the problems facing the United States, according to a new national survey by the nonprofit Public Religion Research Institute. The finding is part of PRRI’s 12th annual American Values Survey released Monday which, among other things, highlights the continued impact of the same falsehoods and conspiracy theories that fueled the violent Jan. 6 attack on the U. S. Capitol nearly one year later. The survey was conducted between Sept. 16 and Sept. 29 through online interviews with a random sample of 2,508 adults living in all 50 states. Nearly one in five, or 18 percent, of overall respondents said they agreed with the statement: “Because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country,” including 30 percent of Republicans, 11 percent of Democrats and 17 percent of independents. “It is an alarming finding,” said Robert Jones, CEO and founder of PRRI. “I’ve been doing this a while, for decades, and it’s not the kind of finding that as a sociologist, a public opinion pollster, that you’re used to seeing.” Overall, the responses to this question illustrate the “significant and rapidly increasing polarization in the United States,” he said.

So then, what you're saying is, after a 4+ year-long attack on Trump and the Conservatives who supported him, events are "just now" becoming 'alarming'? Why weren't things 'alarming' while violent protests were going on? Why weren't things 'alarming' when the war on cops was declared? And why weren't things 'alarming' when Black Lives Matter spewed its violent racism against anyone who wouldn't repeat the phrase "Black Lives Matter", and why weren't things 'alarming' when they blocked highways, destroying vehicles that tried to pass? But now, after 4 years, when Conservatives have had enough and are standing up against corruption and terrorism - NOW things are "alarming"? No...things are only "alarming" to those who committed the acts of terrorism. They've become scared people - and with good reason.

right on! die hard liberals like Dances don't "get it" until their lives are threatened. it's okay as long as totalitarianism is against Republicans, but when it leeches over into Democrats, THEN it's a problem.
  • What percent of democrats have demonstrated that violence? Both sides need to stop making more problems and spend some energy actually solving them!

Congress is an echo chamber. They meet just to hear themselves talk.
  • Your source starts with a Leftist assertion that the election wasn't rigged. The only assurance the people have that what she says is true is her word - since any attempts to investigate and get to the truth were blocked by the very Party that asserts the election wasn't rigged. Their confidence is admirable in their own eyes when they're the ones telling the story, but somehow, when the world wants something more substantial to verify it, suddenly their "truth" doesn't pass the litmus test because they're not willing to support it with evidence. Considering the theme of the source, whatever "poll" they present has no credibility. They want to present a believable claim and so they conduct a survey among supporters with the same mindset. That's not a "poll" - it's propaganda.

"Your source starts with a Leftist assertion that the election wasn't rigged." Well, probably because NOBODY HAS EVER PROVEN OTHERWISE. Over 60 court cases brought by the Orange, Whore-Buying Emperor - even to the Supreme Court, stacked with his own appointees! LOL! And EVERY TIME --- NO EVIDENCE PROVIDED. Now, it is NOVEMBER 2021, a FULLYEAR LATER, and what EVIDENCE does the Orange, Whore-Buying Pig have for a "stolen election" - still, NOT ONE SHRED OF ACTUAL, PHYSICAL EVIDENCE to support ANY OF HIS CLAIMS. Just whacko, right-wing conspiracy crap with NOTHING OF ANY SUBSTANCE. ONE FULL YEAR LATER -- and nothing but Screaming Crybabies who hate losing, pounding their fists, stomping their feet, and whining like little 6-year-olds at their playground recess. but NOTHING that has ANY MEANING or SUBSTANCE at all! Orange Don's own Justice Department said there was No Election Fraud. Many Republicans all over the map say the same thing - sorry, but it's not just Democrats. They say there is NOTHING THERE and none of the right-wing conspiracy whackos have ever provided ANYTHING to show otherwise! ONE YEAR LATER -- and the PROPAGANDA and TINFOIL HAT NONSENSE is ALL YOURS, Snookums!

A lot of court cases were brought to the Supreme Court - and left at the door when the response was "we don't want to see them". John Roberts refused because he was afraid of the violent reaction that might result - or so he said. This means that the Supreme Court buckled at the threat of violence. Is there any stronger reason to keep power away from the Democrats and uphold the rule of law? Blaming it on "Trump's court" doesn't work - the violence threats were AGAINST "Trump's court" by the anti-Trump Democrats. And I see that you too are obsessed with "whore-buying". You call Conservatives liars while you people propagandize debunked misinformation yourselves. You might look up the word "credibility" because you obviously don't know what it means.

right on all counts 1465. TESTIFY!! Keep the truth out there!
  • I don't know why that would be in any way alarming. Of course it's true. See: Afghanistan. See: terrorists. See: etc. There's a reason we have a powerful military. It's not because we want to conquer the rest of the World. It's because we want to protect ourselves from the rest of the World. And: we can reasonably expect (from past experience) that we will have to do so from time to time.

      Trump stole Hillary's election. I wouldn't laugh.
    • Army Veteran
You make me laugh. You claim Trump stole Hillary's election but that Biden didn't steal Trump's election. Why is it that in the question of election fraud, the Democrats are the innocent ones when they had the motive and the opportunity to cheat? Hillary bussed voters across state lines to vote in more than one state, they used dead people to vote, and they maintained sanctuary cities where illegals enjoyed safe harbor (in violation of federal law) so they could exploit the illegal vote. If you take out all of the illegal votes, Hillary lost by a hundred miles. This was why they wanted to do away with the Electoral College and use just the popular vote. Their "popular vote" was obtained by cheating. They solved that problem in the 2020 elections by unleashing the Coronavirus. This ensured that they could impose mail-in ballots - which were the easiest form of cheating. This has to be true - otherwise, why is it that they relied on the same Electoral College in 2020 that they wanted to do away with in 2016 to verify the ballots? It was because in 2016 the Electoral College worked against their cheating and in 2020, after flooding the election with hundreds of thousands of "last minute" ballots, the Electoral College was needed to verify the ballots. This was even more evident with the perpetual attempts to prevent the audits - if the Dems really did win fairly as they claim, why would they try and stop the audits? The audits would only verify their claims. Obviously, they were scared of something being exposed.

  • It's interesting to note that supporters of the Left are attracted to revolutionary actions such as violence on the streets and assassinating law enforcement - as long as they seem to have the upper hand and their victims do little or nothing to protect themselves. But bring up the possibility that 30 percent of the Conservative base will go on the offensive and take their country away from the Marxists, and the situation suddenly becomes "ALARMING"? That is so funny...😆

    • Army Veteran
I can't believe Liberals consider themselves to be "educated." To forget the violent protests, the war on law enforcement and the Black Lives Matter terrorism that went on throughout the last 4 years supported by the Democrats - and then vilify Trump for everything takes a special kind of "education" that you only see riding the little buses.
  • I'd like to know who did the poll. How valid is it before replying.
    • DancesWithWolves
      Yes, I do agree
  • They've been salivating about having an excuse to murder Democrats for a long time. They hate democracy and want a dictatorship under their control. That's why Republican legislatures all over the country are passing laws to restrict access to voting, gerrymander their districts, and to allow a partisan office to override any election outcome they don't like. The GOP knows it can't win fair elections.
    • DancesWithWolves
Yes, i agree thanks for your comment
  • Violence goes either way. The left wants to portray the right-wing as violent to save the US polls, but many people are forgetting about Antifa and the year in protests and clashes with the Trump supporters. Amid the back and forth conflict, Portland residents were left drained with decrying the property destruction. Double-standards are playing a huge role in politics.

Thanks Jenny for sharing your comment
  • All I've seen of late is violence and looting being acted by Liberals, in fact the Marxist Theory of Revolution advocates violence, "take it by force." This is seen in Black Lives Matter movement, which was founded by Alicia Garza, she is Jewish, she has a tattoo on her chest which reads I am not wrong: Wrong is not my name My name is my own my own my own and I can't tell you who the hell set things up like this but I can tell you that from now on my resistance my simple and daily and nightly self-determination may very well cost you your life. Which doesn't sound very peaceful. This poem comes from June Jordan, another activist who said she was filled with hatred after the Harlem Riots of 1964 and was quote "filled with hatred for everything and everyone white." Her father beat her as a child, and her mother died of suicide, her father use to say to her quote "There was a war against colored people, I had to become a soldier." She became an influential black poet, as mostly whites existed. She did turn to love not hatred and she was bisexual. Patrisse Cullors the second founder of BLM, who's mentor was Eric Mann who was a part of the The Weather Underground, which was a radical left wing militant organization.the group's express political goal was to create a revolutionary party to overthrow American imperialism. The FBI described the WUO as a domestic terrorist group, with revolutionary positions characterized by Black Power and opposition to the Vietnam War. The WUO took part in domestic attacks such as the jailbreak of Timothy Leary in 1970. The "Days of Rage" was the WUO's first riot in October 1969 in Chicago, timed to coincide with the trial of the Chicago Seven. In 1970, the group issued a "Declaration of a State of War" against the United States government under the name "Weather Underground Organization." Cullors defines herself as a prison, police and "militarization" abolitionist, a position she says is inspired by "a legacy of black-led anti-colonial struggle in the United States and throughout the Americas".She also favors reparations for what she describes as "the historical pains and damage caused by European settler colonialism", in various forms, such "financial restitution, land redistribution, political self-determination, culturally relevant education programs, language recuperation, and the right to return (or repatriation. Cullors is gay. Opal Tometi/Ayọ Tometi the final founder of BLM. What's interesting also about this movement is it's mission statement, which means it's main goal, and it isn't to overthrow white supremacy or equality, it is to change the Black Liberation Movement from within, taking the straight male from the centre of the movement, and replacing it with transgender, and gay men and women. So as Zaza Ali asks, is this a black liberation movement, or is this a LBGTQ movement?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTwMqm2Mzpk And she has a point, because this organisation has no problem attacking black neighbourhoods and shops as seen during the looting and rioting. And if an organisation exists for a pure reason, it is easily infiltrated for a deceptive one. Now, I'm also going to mention extinct rebellion, because the founder of that Roger Hallam, states that it isn't about climate change! So what is it about? Quote "We’re going to force the governments to act,” said Hallam. “And if they don’t, we will bring them down and create a democracy fit for purpose. And yes, some may die in the process.” So this is about overthrowing the established order if need be with violence. People need to start looking into organisations and persons before swallowing the narrative, whatever colour, race, or religion you are. I'm not saying that Republicans governments are not violent, children in poverty is violence, an innocent, or unarmed person being shot, or killed by police is violent, but what I am saying is to question these things with an unbiased mind, it is the only way to think. People also need to wake up, and understand we are being pitted against each other for a reason, this is done via the news which is controlled and owned by a few, by films, tv, propaganda, social engineering.
  • considering the Democrats, liberal and leftists own the media (that's huge), the (globalist) tech giants are accumulating and manipulating what we do online, and it's obvious they are engaging in cancelling the voices of anyone who disagrees with them, that our justice system (the FBI, the CIA, the DOJ and SCOTUS) has been weaponized and corrupted, and finally that the left is capable of stealing elections, then yes. It may take a civil war to return our civil and human rights and to get our country AS FOUNDED away from all these corrupt SOBs who are using the Constitution for toilet paper!
