  • It's another part of Biden's train wreck. He's working to destroy the American economy and America's reputation on the world stage. The many things (everything) he has done wrong couldn't possibly be a coincidence - such a record has to be intentional. He blames everything on Trump and his faithful minions echo the rhetoric. But the fact is, he vowed to "fix" the supposed "damage" Trump caused - and after 9 months, he's fixed nothing - he's only made things worse. I don't know how Liberals can support Biden after everything he's done.

  • Well...not some of those things. TP and paper towels are manufactured in-country (MAYBE some also in Canada), and most foods - especially at this time of year (harvest season) - are home grown and/or home-raised. Come Christmas we might have a shortage and/or sudden, large rise in price of fresh fruit and veggies. I find it interesting (according to the article you linked) that shipping is "UP" at the LA port by 50% this year, and that LAST year they had a record year. In other words, it's not Covid that is responsible for the hold-up. To the contrary, it's the huge amount of stuff that we're shipping from the far East - MUCH huger than ever before - that is holding things up. - - - What we OUGHT to do (it seems to me, NOT a professional economist) is buy less foreign stuff, and THAT is achieved with protective trade tarriffs. - - - What we probably WILL do is increase the capacity of these West-coast shipping ports so that we can buy more and more and more foreign goods, sending more and more and more of our money to foreign nations. - - - We have achieved oil ("energy") independence, with effort from our government. In fact, we now ship a LOT of petroleum-based products - made with U.S. petroleum - to other nations. Why don't we / the government ALSO attempt to achieve "independence" in other areas, such as - for example - automobiles, televisions, computer screens, etc.? I know those things are not AS important as energy independence (because energy DEpendence makes us vulnerable both economically and strategically)...but aren't they (rather obviously) important to a lesser degree?

  • DeSantis has offered ports of entry in Florida. Biden ignores the offer. Imagine that!
