What would you do if you took your pc into a tech to be repaired and he made the problem worse?
I like this guy. He charges reasonable prices and if he doesn't fix it he doesn't charge you. However today I got an email that said he made the problem worse. Originally the problem was the Windows 10 search wouldn't work. Now it won't boot into windows 10. How do I handle this?

How do I fix Windows 10 search not opening? Run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter Select Start, then select Settings. In Windows Settings, select Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Under Find and fix other problems, select Search and Indexing. Run the troubleshooter, and select any problems that apply. Windows will try to detect and solve them.

Beat Covid, Avoid Republicans Well either I or the tech have already done this and several other things. He thinks it may be malware or a bad HDD. I was asking about how to handle my more difficult problem.

There are unscrupulous companies that intentionally mess up your PC, especially if it's an outdated version. It is part of business to convince you to buy another PC so they can avoid the hassle of repairing yours.

First talk to them and come to a reasonable solution. A refund of payment, replacement of computer, fix it, or get a lawyer involved depending on the store policy. But he should be able to reload win10. Your data wasn't damaged, was it? When was your last backup? It would also depend on if it was for business or professional use or just personal stuff.

if its a hardware fault how could he have caused it? if its software he can reinstall it no big deal. Personally I don't let people touch my devices. You need to fix them yourself its not that hard. If its a hardware fault throw it away and buy a new one.
