  • Anyone who supports abortion would hide behind a child in a life-or-death situation because they value their own interests above those of a child. I hope you don't have any kids.
    • Hulk70156
If God wants them to live He will find a way. Don't go speaking for God.
    • 1465
That has to be the lamest argument I've ever seen.
    • Hulk70156
No, you're the lamest argument I've ever seen, lol
    • OrangeDonRump
"Don't go speaking for God." -- Oh, why not! Everyone else here claims to know every thought, emotion and motivation that their god has, and they speak for it all the time. Why stop with someone like him, just because he wears a TINFOIL HAT?
    • Hulk70156
I know, They wear the Tinfoil Hat to hear God's words. lol
  • They always have whether it was legal or not. I just don't think murder should be legal. Especially when there are so many other options these days.
    • Hulk70156
If a fetus is a human being, how come pregnant women aren't charged with murder if they get into a car accident and lose the child? If you had any sense you'd realize that the abortion laws are ways for men to facilitate dominance over women. If men had babies the laws would be a lot different.
    • Hulk70156
If I force you to have a baby, I can force you into poverty and I can also force you into a marriage where your husband beats you every day. I can also force you into prostitution. I don't see the Ridiculous Right screaming about that!
    • Hulk70156
Working class and poor women are the primary victims of the Ridiculous Right. Think about this LJ next time you align yourself with your enemies.
    • 1465
The only thing ridiculous is your argument. Please explain how a fetus can develop without there being life. A fetus has a heartbeat as early as 16 weeks - are you saying that a heartbeat doesn't constitute life? Babies are born prematurely all the time - how is this possible if they "aren't alive"?
    • 1465
"Why is the debate over abortion always one generation from being beneficial?"
    • Hulk70156
1465 - "A fetus has a heartbeat as early as 16 weeks" So how come the Texas abortion law is for 6 weeks? - And just because a fetus exists doesn't mean its going to become full-blown human. To say so means you can predict the future. You Can't. Get used to the truth for a change.

Hulk: and yet, in most U.S. states, if an unborn child is killed by an act of violence - for example, if a drunken driver hits a pregnant woman and the unborn child is killed - then the unborn child IS treated legally as a person, and the perpetrator is charged with a crime committed against that person.

Murder isn't legal, snooks! Look it up - it's a felony in every state. Where you LIE is the problem. Removing an embryo isn't murder. If your argument had ANY Merit, you wouldn't have to resort to lies and histrionics to continually push it. You could stand on your argument's merits alone without any of your lies and BS. And that right there tells the story. OH - and by the way, this country is governed by a Constitution, not your cult book - and NOBODY in this country is required to follow your cult book or yield to your interpretation of it. That's another serious disconnect that you have.

Orange: Er...duh. Are you actually Trump?

Hulk, I have sense. You saying I don't only shows your ignorance. And since I've already proved this to you before it also shows you resort to this behavior out of habit or you're too stupid to learn to do better. But somehow you equate having sense with agreeing with you. Anyone who doesn't is somehow lacking sense or intelligence. Well, you can all delude yourself with your own bullshit. It doesn't matter to me. I may have been manipulated to do things as a child, but I'm no longer weak and easily fooled (because I have sense) So as an adult NO ONE ever has or will force me to have sex, get pregnant, and I'm certainly not going into prostitution just because I don't have ENOUGH SENSE to use one (or two if you wanna be for sure for sure) of the many many forms of birth control that are available. Abortion is for those who don't have enough SENSE to use proper birth control practices and therefore haven't matured to the point they are responsible enough to make proper choices regarding their sacred right to procreate and are therefore not mentally mature enough to even have sex. And why do you always have to try and make your argument so extreme its ridiculous to the point no one even takes you seriously anymore because you're being ridiculous?
  • This recent court decision is just a temporary reprieve in what was a stupid and draconian decision. Every news report I heared to today said the Scotus is going to wipe out abortion this year. I hope you orange-heads are up for the crime wave of unwanted kids becoming crime statistics. lol😈
    • Linda Joy
This is what I'm talking about. I was my mentally damaged mother's 7th daughter and the fathers bailed. Even including my younger brother, as far as I know, NONE of us have ever been in prison. I went to juvie for running away from my pedophile stepfather, but none of us CHOSE TO BE CRIMINALS. People aren't forced into crime, they choose it.
  • The reason more women don't give their kids up for adoption is because they are biologically hard-wired to care for their kids. Men know this and take advantage of it. 😓 This is why so many women chose a life of poverty or marrying a bad man over giving the baby over to adoption.
    • Linda Joy
Choose being the key word here. They CHOSE TO SPREAD THEIR LEGS WITHOUT PROPER PROTECTION. And if grown boy children don't want to have kids they need to take care of it - PERMANENTLY! I never knew so many cowards in my life afraid of a little snip snip but they'll put a woman and their own child through hell because they don't want to grow up and be responsible men!
  • From reading the full article that is not really the concern, the concern is this is not being driven by "government enforcement," but by "civil enforcement" through civil lawsuits. Anyone can sue, regardless of whether some harm was done to them. Legal experts have said the law is a “radical expansion” of standing, which is the legal concept that determines whether one person may sue another, usually in order to get compensation for some sort of injury or harm. The new abortion law requires no such relationship to the case in order to have standing. It’s a very unusual measure in tort law, which is usually used to provide remedies to people who have incurred a harm. Adriana Piñon, a senior staff attorney and policy counsel for the ACLU of Texas, said the law “leaves open the courtroom door in Texas.” Legal experts have said that the concept to expand standing is part of an emerging trend in Republican-dominated state governments that find it difficult to constitutionally prohibit actions they dislike. Instead, such governments empower civilians to sue for civil remedies. Anti-abortion groups argue that the Texas Legislature can legitimately give anyone standing. State courts are likely to sort out whether the Texas Constitution requires someone to have sustained an injury in order to bring a lawsuit, or if, indeed, the Legislature’s permission is enough to allow people to sue for what lawyers call “generalized grievances,” or harms that weren’t committed against them personally. From my perspective this can only result in anarchy, with a torrent of lawsuits. Someone's going to be making money.
    • Hulk70156
Civil enforcement is one issue, the other is that abortion is illegal.
    • Creamcrackered
The article actually says that it is illegal 6 weeks after missed menstruation, what that means is basically if a woman misses her period, she better go get a pregnancy test asap, and if she is pregnant, and wants an abortion, she better get that asap too.
  • Such as the decision on whether to take the vaccine, or not? You people are too dense to see your own hypocrisy.
    • Linda Joy
      So true!
  • It has been temporarily reversed. What a shame!
