  • Lower wages, slave labour. But we're all immigrants, and we all want to do the best for our families, it's not the civilians fault, it's the big wealthy comporate shareholders, owners, that want something for nothing, and us not doing anything about it.
  • Nothing if they follow the law. If they don't, they still may not be caught. There are legal penalties for employing illegal aliens, but many people do it and are never caught. The advantages include things like paying lower wages and no Social Security taxes. And a lot of employers have legal immigrants on their payrolls. That's not unusual.
  • Not too sure
  • Most of the restaurants and nursing homes in my area would have to close down if they couldn't hire immigrants. Same with the area where my MIL was in a nursing home - nearly all the staffers were immigrants. NPR did a story a while back about the industries that would be severely hampered without immigrant labor, and restaurants, nursing homes and farms were high on the list. Some farms haven't seen a white native-born job applicant in many years.
  • Are you unhappy with immigrants? Good for you that people didn't crap on your immigrant ancestors that way when they first came to the US seeking a better life..
  • Immigrants bring their customs with them & change the social constructs & mores of their new home country. but that is usually a GOOD thing, nearly all old established countrys usually gradually become more liberal & decadent with each generation . Immigrants are largely young hard working people eger to make a better life for themselves and build a better world for their children than they had in their home country. For an example look at latin Immigrants the new largest minority in the U.S.. They came here broke , moved into cheap- disintegrating neighborhoods & immediately go to work improving those abandoned empty crime infested ghettos by opening small family operated mom & pop storefront shops & stores. After a few years those old crime infested ghettos are thriving neighborhoods where its safe for children to play. They are the best thing that I've seen happen to our old burned out citys in my long lifetime..
  • I think if the immigrant is a legal citizen of the US there should be no issues. If the person is an illegal, ie undocumented then I think there should be a path to citizenship. That is a path that is fair to both the immigrant and the people who are already citizens. Lastly if the person is part of the DREAM Act that is a separate issue.
  • There are laws in place to employ people that permits to work in the US.
