Rules of Attraction was better than the book. Book was good but the movie was AMAZING!

Brokeback Mountain, but that came from a short story. So many delicious books have been slaughtered by movies. The only one I can think of off the top of my head would be, Bastard Out of Carolina, but it's so subjective. Someone else might like the book better. Good question!+

Any time the movie was made first, the books are lame. This goes for Star Wars books, Star Trek books, Dr. Who books, or any books made as a spinoff of a TV show or movie. Other than that, none that I know of, though some have been almost unrelated to the book on which they were theoretically based.

Bridge on the River Kwai. The author's ending was a real downer, and the movie improved it enormously. Besides which even if you read the book you're thinking of the movie characters--without them the book is just another war novel.

NO, I havent seen one yet. I usually disappointed, because my fantasy of what it should be, and what they portray are always different.
