  • Why can't each State have one Governor, One Mayor, One Congressman it's a waste of taxpayer's money?
  • Each serves the needs of its community. For example: the governor of New York is the CEO of the state government. However, each city in New York has its own government, its own school system (well: most of them), it's own needs and regulations and so-on. And so: New York City has a mayor who acts as CEO of the New York City government. Rochester has a mayor who acts as CEO of the Rochester government. etc. Without the Rochester mayor, who runs the Rochester city government? Without the New York City mayor, who runs the New York City government? etc.

  • No but, I think that there needs to be more regulation with those checks and balances. Think of a dictator or a king, that'd suck wouldn't it.

  • No. Chief executives are important. Organized governments are important. Without them essential things do not get done.

  • You have a valid point as so much gets bogged down between those offices, where today, it is kept as fine, the lower value of those offices as you go down to say mayor.
