I'm gay, but I have a fear of sex, is that irrational?

I'm a gay male and naturally I'm attracted to males, ever since I was young, I was always attracted to my male classmates at school, but I have never had sex, even when I was a teenager, the only sex I've ever had was with my own hand. My fear of sex comes from my fear of getting AIDS and HIV, and this fear is getting in the way of me having a romantic relationship with anyone.

For me, the most nervous I was is when I kissed my first guy. By the time I slid to my knees in front of him, the nervousness changed to total exhilaration. That wonderful feeling has never left---you just need to go out and find a guy and get past your fears. The rest is beautiful beyond description.
