  • That's a good question to axe. If I'm not their teacher, then there is no good reason to correct them. People who correct others in conversation are usually either losing an argument or they feel intimidated so they cope by being condescending. The purpose of language is to exchange ideas effectively. If the idea has been exchanged sufficiently, then there is no need for perfection unless someone is expressing themselves in a professional medium.
