How were people arrested in 1920s America?
Writing a story where someone is arrested for murder in 1924 New York. Were they put in handcuffs and put in the back of a car like the modern day?

Hit over the head with a club and when they awake in a cell, they are told they are under arrest, just kidding. Probably the same way it is done today, but being that most officers walked a foot patrol a paddy wagon was used to take the accused to jail.
