Can you "dry drown" by swallowing water quickly?
For prior knowledge, I have anxiety which causes me to breathe shallow when stressed or anxious.
So, here's the question: I was sitting down drinking water, when I swallowed some fairly quickly. It may or may not have aspirated (gone down the wrong pipe). I did not cough, choke or gag, but I did feel anxious and panicked. I can still breathe and smell. I have heard that you can drown without being in water, and it takes up to 72 hours to kill. Is this a cause of "dry drowning", or am I just being paranoid. I would be very grateful for an answer VERY SOON.
