Rape is about control. Mental rape is taking control of another person's mind, through manipulation, brainwashing, threats and fear.

Mike Fox's book, "Emotional Rape Syndrome" is a good read on the subject for those who have been raped this way. It is a very painful thing to go through especially when you are faced with the truth that someone used your own mind against you during probably the darkest, most vulnerable time in your life and then points their finger back at you with condemnation. They use and humiliate you on purpose. It feeds a hatred they have inside them. It is a scar that will always hurt, but there is knowledge you walk away with that you can use to help other victims.

You may love her in the future, but the sex is great and shes kool to hang out with....Right after sex she turns to you and says she loves you. Now what? Mental rape for me was brainwashing..not thinking on my own anymore..someone wanting complete control of my brain..mental rape is Hitler yelling in the head and then saying I love you~ gas lighting~and when your mind snaps..it's like a bomb went on in your head..it's poisen..if this has happen to anyone like it happen to me..Please..put your head on a soft pillow..in a quiet room and tell yourself everything will be alright..it takes time to heal..one day at a time~write in a journal and keep your voice alive..Your voice..not his~ be around loving good people~ find meetings in your area~for support..Peace!
