  • No never. You mean that weird people use the Internet too?
  • Loads of people. I met this girl once on some random site a couple of months ago. And she was threatning to kill herself if i didnt go out wiv her. Weird eh?
  • Yes just one and he was a total meat head, loved himself and had a go at me for complimenting a lady on a her dress!
  • Yep, a couple of people whom I dont converse with anymore.
  • Not weird , but some people with dependency issues. But also I have met some very interesting, genuine and loving people on the internet, so I think its good not to be generalised when labelling people on the internet, because there is a wide range of personality types.
  • Yes, I've met all sorts of people over the internet.
  • Yeah, one guy on this site, keeps following me around, inviting me to chat on MSN, telling me to turn off my Firewall. I think he's trying to get into my hard drive.
  • I have and no longer talk to these people. The great thing about the Internet is the ability to pick and choose and ignore or close out people you no longer prefer to speak to.
  • One...and he really "creeped me out". Right out of the blue he said that he really enjoyed having sex with his mother and that I should try it with my son. EWWWW! Otherwise 99.9% of the people I have met are very nice.
  • Not just weird. I have met... Trolls Threathing people Weird and Crazy people People that make no sense at all Really strange of what they mean.
  • I had a strange encounter with someone I met on the internet. We went to dinner and a movie. He was a fellow computer nerd. He and I spent our 'date' debating which was the better text editor - vi or Emacs. We went our separate ways. The next time I saw him online he started chatting me about slathering ourselves in oil, etc. Apparently, UNIX really excites that one.
  • I think the internet, like alot of things, brings out the best and the worst in people, but oh, yes! I have met some weirdness. I messaged with a guy who lived about 100 miles from me and after about two days of messages and email, he began to profess his love for me. Now I'm a likable girl, but please!! We never even spoke on the phone and he loves? Idon'tthinkso!!
  • Stick around, you'll meet plenty right here on AB. Myself included! :)
  • Haha...yea... a "Hermaphrodite"
  • that is the charm of the Internet. you can talk about weird things and never have the uncomfortable feeling of being face to face with the person. when you have had your fill or it gets dangerous or creepy, you can safely retreat.
  • Everyone you meet on the internet is weird.
  • "Weird" being a nut case? Yes - 70% of the people I meet on the internet have some WAY OFF story and or issue - I don't meet with people personally off the internet - I have always told myself "This is the internet, a fairytale world". Therefore keeping the internet world inside this monitor and my real life where it is. None of my friends even own a computer so I never talk about the internet to them (they wouldn't have a clue as to what I was saying). I pretty much keep the two separate.
  • Yep,I met a few on d4d website!
  • hello, omg yes! he was a witty smooth talker & a pediphille! i was naieve enough to give in to his ways, but as it turned out,i notified yahoo and he got the yahoo boot.
  • I've never met anyone who *wasn't* weird. Period.
  • YES. Crazy
  • I've run into some creepers, but none that scared me witless.
  • I sure have!!
  • I had a dude interested in buying underwear and bras, but insisted I called him "Sissy Sally" and told him he was a bad girl. (I was moving across the country, and trying to get rid of all my stuff so I wouldn't have to rent a truck.) I didn't know he was a dude until about fifteen emails in.
  • thats like asking if you have ever met someone who likes ice cream at Dairy Queen.
  • yes - some regular freaks of nature! (scary shit!)
  • the only people I've met on the Internet that I can call friends are the people I've met on this site. The snotty people on Yahoo answers is the main reason I came to Answerbag.
  • I think everyone will agree that that sort of thing is never ending.
  • Hi Scott... Im weird. Nice to meet you. *Shakes hands.
  • Do you mean someone other than the run-of-the-mill weirdos that frequent AnswerBag? No. I can't say that I have. On the other hand, I haven't had a death threat for more than a year, so I'm feeling kinda unwanted. ;-)
  • No but you have, Your talking to him. LOL
  • Yes, but that's what makes her so fun to talk to... :-P
  • Nooooooo! Someone weird on the Internet...the mere idea!
  • hahahaha the internet is full of BIMBOZZZ
  • Yes..I met a woman once that decided to do the mad stalker act and followed me to georgia before I lost her..LOL :)
  • The question is, are there any normal people on the Internet?
  • LMAO! Hundreds! : D
  • Quite often and i just avoid them like the plague as much as possible
  • Yes, a few.
  • yea this weird guy on a game site that had a chat room, started talking to me and saying scary things as if he was watching me like i know you're pretty and then he asked what i was wearing. that is creepy!!!
  • Yep,I was told by a lady she liked men that have had a high amputation and has been a Devotee/Admirer for years. When I told her I was no longer in a wheelchair she lost intrest.
  • Definitely. Started chatting with one guy off of a dating site, he seemed relatively normal there, but when we moved the conversation to messenger everything changed. He started talking about how he "wasn't the jealous type" (LOL) but was looking for a long term relationship, then he came right out and said that he wanted a cuckold type relationship. He was into being humiliated and belittled. Very odd, to me at least, I promptly told him that that was not my thing and I blocked him. :)
  • Someone weird on the Internet? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! No such thing!
  • It would be an easier question to answer if asked if you HAVEN'T met someone weird on the Internet
  • I AM someone weird on the internet!
  • Depends on what you mean with "weird", I think most of us who often use the Internet have.
  • Yep a few have stalked me!
  • Yes, Just spent 2-3 days emailing this guy, finally I suggested we meet. He lives about 50 min. away from the major city I live in and he wanted me to meet him there. I told him that it would take me close to an hour to get there and that maybe we should meet in town during the week since he works here in town. I told him I could meet him in the area which was on his way home. He emailed me back and then suggested a Restaurant/bar. I told him it would work great and asked what time he wanted to meet. He emailed me back, at 4pm. Told him, I had to run and would see him tomorrow. Later I checked my email and noticed he sent me a message and said that now that I had a hot date, I was willing to meet him, he was upset that I didnt drive out to meet him today, but that I am now happy to meet him in town. He said, now that you have a hot date you are willing to meet me. I thought, Oh brother, what is up with this guy? I wrote him back and told him that if he expected all the women he met online to drive all the way up to his town I told him if he did, he isnt being very considerate, and I told him I hardly call meeting at 4pm at the casual restaurant a hot date. I guess I found out early that this guy is very sensitive and moody or has some other major issues! Wow! Unbelievable! Don't really know what to think about this internet dating thing.
  • Ok, story time! There was this guy back in 2005 that drove 5 hours to take me to a movie. His idea, and all I wanted to do was see a movie. I mean, I didn't care he drove that far. I wasn't gonna do him in his car. Anyway, he showed up and we went to watch Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. Great, right? Anyway, he wouldn't keep his hands off me the whole time, constantly trying to shove his tongue down my throat, and cop a feel. So I had him get me a soda, and I kept the straw in my mouth the whole time so he couldn't kiss me. So, in answer to your question, yes. Yes I have met someone weird on the nets. In fact, that's all I've met. But I liked the weird some of them gave out.
  • On the internet? Weird people? Oh hell no! I have no idea what you mean???? Seriously? The internet BREEDS nut jobs!
  • yes I'm afraid so. I'm way more careful now.
  • Yes and after that first time I am very careful. Just said hello and introduced myself and after that she asked what I was doing and I told her meeting other people and she went off on me for cheating on her. that was a trip.
  • I met a couple of weirdos on what is supposedly the best dating site on the Internet, eharmony. Both were good-looking so I didn't find out they were weirdos until I spoke to them on the phone. The cute nerdy guy with glasses tried to get me to come to his city to sleep with him, and freaked out when I told him I was a virgin. The Stallone-esque guy bragged about his hair implants and the size of his you-know-what, and asked me if I liked anal. On the other hand, I met the sweetest, most beautiful guy in the world on what is supposedly the WORST dating site on the Internet, craigslist...I most likely would have married him if he hadn't been murdered. Yeah, I don't have the best of luck...
  • Isn't EVERYONE weird on the internet?
  • Yes I have...one person. A guy I met of a dating site. He acted like a 12 year old girl and he dragged me round London for an hour trying to find the carrot cake flavour face cream as the birthday cake flavour one was the only one they had in stock!
  • Yeah my mum
  • This fireman who didn't mind that people might be on fire while he was off duty...and when I joked that I was going to go and play with matches irresponciably he said something like "go right ahead".:-P
