• Antioxidants are substances which bind with free radicals and prevent them from damaging cells in your body. They will not help you lose weight, and their effectivenss in improving health is not even well researched or widely accepted medical practice. Free radicals are a necessary part of your immune system, and help to dispose of harmful things in your body. Intentionally removing them may prevent some damage from the free radicals, but expose you to increased risk from other foreign materials, so have no net effect on health.
