Kinda sorta, if thousands of years of Ghanaian tradition is considered relatives. In Ghana, children are given two names. One thier parents give them, and one based on the day of the week and gender. Kokou (my middle name) means "First Boy Born on a Wednesday."

My dad and mum wanted to call me different things. Mum wanted to call me James and dad wanted to call me christopher. Women always win so my second name is Christopher... kind of a second place :P

MY middle name is the same as my great-granmother's name, but my mother only thought of that after she called me it. But my sister did get one grandmother's name as a middle name. My elder daughter was named after two of her great-grandmothers.

Yes, in a way. Haven't got one (and don't need one, there's only one of me in the world) but when I moved to Ukraine it made sense to do what almost all Slavs do and use my father's name + "son" as a middle name. His name was John, which is Ivan (pronounced Yvonne) in Russian or Ukrainian. Everyone here calls me Roger Ivanovitch--that means Roger Johnson. Most people don't even know my last name and I rarely use it except on documents. Which, since it sounds better, is fine with me! If I had a sister Irene, she'd be Irina Ivanivna--Irene Johnsdaughter. It helps to know the system of naming and nicknaming. Russian novels make more sense that way, since you can instantly see the roles and relationships between people by what they call each other.

yeah sort of. My moms Stepdads name was James, he died a month before i was born and i tryed to come early on the day he died. So my parents made one of my middle names Jamie, the more femenin version of James. :)

Sort of. Not quite. There's one letter difference. I think it was because the rhythm of my name wouldn't sound right if it ended in the same letter as my Nanna's, which ended in a vowel, so my mother dropped the letter completely and my three names flow better.
