There would be something that would be in place of guns to do the evil in the world that guns have done. Why?, because guns are not the problem, people are the problem. Now, if you would ask "If people never existed, what would the world be like" I would say, "paradise"

Good question. Law enforcement would have a whole different set of procedures. Less people would be shot to death... they'd be clubbed to death instead. Mankind has always known that projecting items at high velocities can kill. Inventing the gun is inevitable.

There were wars long before the invention of guns. It is people that kill and people that decide to go to war , not the weapons they use. Although I do have issues with certain holes in the appropriation of gun laws. We would certainly have less mass killings but human nature would find another way to destroy.

there would be a lot more stabbings but i'm a little bit ok with that. at least you have to get up close to stab someone and there's no such thing as a semi-automatic knife.

It really is the ignorance and stupidy of people that make guns so terrible. Also, the fact that guns have evolved technically so much over the years. What we have today is not what our forefathers had in mind when they wrote the bill of rights. But to answer your question: I would still have an older brother named Keith. He was shot to death in a hunting accident by his best friend. More than one life was destoyed that day.

There would be a lot of people stoned to death. a drive by stoning in the hood. pop a pebble in you butt to the gangsters. this is my boulder this is my rock this one for smashing this one is not for the military.

Probably pretty much the same, as people would use knives and other weapons to intimidate and kill others.

I don't know where we would be, but it's a good bet we wouldn't have as many inventions that we have now.

It wouldn't be better off at all. We would still be stuck in the stone age. Weapons technology is tied to so much stuff. We wouldn't have planes, black powder, etc. Plus, that's like saying "What nobody ever got mad at each other?" It just isn't so, so we can stop wasting time on the what if.

I do not know if the world would be better off per say. We would still have humans which is the reason we have destruction in the first place regardless of the tools at our disposal. We would the diseases and the anger and hate in places. I think that WAR would be a fight that was fought a whole lot more fairly. YOu would have to think more, than bombing someone, you could try to defend yourself against knives, stones, arrows, swords all that. YOu still though have fire, the liquid burning all the things the people in the past used and invented. So I dont think it would be a better place. Just fights would be fairly fought.

Two ways to look at this. Historically, primitive man needed to hunt and to defend himself. So we began with fists, then stones, then clubs, then bows and arrows and slings and spears, then gunpowder was invented. So what we now have is really nothing more than primitive man found a necessity, something to protect ourselves and something with which to hunt. But we're talking about tools, the misuse of which can cause unwanted or unnecessary damage. Second approach. We have them so let's figure out how to use them without hurting each other unnecessarily. There is definitely too much focus on violence as a solution. If you don't agree with me, we fight. That doesn't make sense. I might get hurt...or killed. So let's focus on getting along, try for the resolution solution. If we have trouble with other countries, find out why and see if a resolution can't be negotiated. Yes, it sounds "pie-in-the-sky" but the other way sure isn't working.

Not any differently: Cain slew Abel long before anyone thought about weapons. If there were no rifles or pistols, they could use rocks, flatware, farm tools, or just fists.

The world would be infinitely better in my opinion, but we would probably be back to sticks and stones Mate -- humans apparently love to fight and they're excellent at finding a "cause" to do so.

The world would be in just as bad a condition, due to a drastically higher population, overcrowding, etc, etc. Our resources would be pretty much gone by now, there would be wars everywhere (seeing as the single biggest reason most places don't go to war is that they're scared what the other country could do to them with nuclear weapons) and the newspapers wouldn't have anything to moan about. Wait. Scrap that last one. The newspapers could moan about anything if they tried hard enough.

I would say it would be much better off.Very few guns these days are used for the hunting of animals or protection from wild animals.Now they are used in the killing of humans,bought by the military and civilians.

probably, if you take mrcool's advice that people are the problem, everyone would try to kill each other with crossbows and spears etc. there would be no james bond, no godfather etc.

Did you ever get a chance to watch "Gladiator"? People would fight,no matter what's the weapon they use.The animal instincts,egoism,strive for dominance,winning over females and hunger for power would never leave peace all alone.It's sad but,it's true.

we'd probably have another ridiculous and probably more painful way of killing. instead of drive by shootings we wouldh ave drive by knive throwing. there was a guy who was going 40 mph down the highway, and some guy got out of his car all mad n stuff and started harassing the guy. he started punching him and he pulled out a gun and shot the dude twice in the chest and killed him. the shooter wasn't charged with anything because it was self-defense.

People would of invented other manners in which too kill each other, we had swords which were decent manners in which to kill, cross bows, catapults, lances, bow and arrow etc. Humanity has been killing each other since the dawn of time, guns change nothing.

The ancient greeks were warriors and always in conflict with one another and they had no firearms. The rise and fall of rome likewise happened without firearms. Killing was much more up close and personal. Guns do not kill people. People do.
