Only if I think they deserve it

Nope, I usually give points if I think an answer or question is good/coherent/useful/correct.

I know you don't as I sure know but who can resist such a pretty kitty. Wait! A saucer of milk is forthcoming it has 4 points in it.
-
I did that once, but I found it quite boring, now I only give points to those who deserve it and those who answer my question, wheather or not they answered it correctly.

I used to be very generous. With the ability to vary my points awards on the new 5.0, I have become more discriminating. AB has suffered for six months from "points inflation." Too many poor answers are rated up. Now, I can give 1-6 points, or none at all, and prefer it that way. In fact, a negative 1, does little damage, but alerts a person that their answer may not be the best it could be. So, down rating will probably become more acceptable.

I'm very stingy with my points, really. I usually only give points if I think a person has been wrongly downrated. I do take points willy-nilly however.
