  • In short the simple answer is NO, they do not believe that. The bible says that you cant stop birds from flying over your head but you can stop them from building a nest on top of it. The same applies with thoughts or physical reactions to some form of stimuation. Its not about how your mind or body responds thats sinful, but instead its how you act and the decisions you make AFTER the physical or mental stimulation.
  • I don't think that wet dreams are sinful because when you're sleeping, you can't control what you think about because of REM (rapid eye movement) dreaming. If you think about something and you begin masturbating when you're sleeping, there's nothing wrong with that.
  • How can Baptists believe something to be sinful when the Bible doesn't address it, either directly or in principle? Unless there is a Scriptural principle or command involved which is being violated, there is no sin. While our dreams may sometimes reflect our sinful natures, I don't think the Bible suggests that we have the ability to control them. A nocturnal emission suggests that one has not been involved in fornication or masturbation, so maybe it's even a positive sign in some way. Now, if you're married and having wet dreams, maybe you're not "rendering due benevolence to your wife". I Corinthians 7:2-5
