  • People kill other people using guns.So both.
  • How could a gun kill someone if it's sitting there unloaded? It's an inanimate object. It's harmless til it gets in the hands of an idiot.
  • People kill people. They will choose any available method, and guns is one of those methods.
  • People kill people. Guns just make it easier
  • Guns don't work by themselves. People use them.
  • People do. If not with a gun, they would use a knife or something else. Guns are just more lethal usually and a faster death often.
  • People kill people. Guns are tools that people use. Guns, themselves, don't kill people - they'd just sit around and do nothing.
  • Guns don't kill people. People use guns as tools in order to succeed in killing another person. If guns weren't used by people, they wouldn't be able to kill anybody.
  • A gun is no different than any other tool, it takes a person for it to work.
  • guns don't kill people, and neither do people. greed, lies, and twisted values kill people.
  • A gun, is an inanimate, thoughtless tool. It is without intention, and without 'purpose' (in the sense of forethought). It is the person who wields the weapon who acts with intention to use it to harm or even kill another, sometimes with prior plan and forethought. Guns simply make the harming/killing of another easier, or 'more convenient'. They provide a means to an end, but are not in fact the thing that 'kills' another. Guns were invented by men, for the purposes of killing others with greater ease. Guns do not kill people, people kill people.
  • Both, but not exclusive of one another. People kill people, but they use the gun as a means to kill people, so in this context, the gun does kill people. Take away the person with the finger on the trigger though, and the gun cannot kill people, as it is inanimate and does not think for itself. Bring back the person and take away the gun. If that person still wants to kill people, they'll find a way regardless of whether they have a gun or not. So yes, in some contexts guns do kill people, but in reality, it is the person behind the gun that kills people, even if the gun itself fires the fatal bullet.
  • TRUE STATEMENT, I believe it. There have been over 200 murders in Philly since Jan.1, 2007. Not a one of them was committed by an inanimate weapon. Every one of them had an immoral, greedy, self-serving asshole holding on to the other end of the murder weapon.
  • When was the last time you saw a gun pull it's own trigger?
  • well, i think people do, because the gun has no 'brain', so it can't think, and therefore, the person who pulls the trigger, is in control...
  • Guns in the hand of people kill people. It is much harder to kill people without them and people are not responsible enough to be allowed to own them.
  • I wish I was the firt person to say this, and I love to quote it! Whether a bullet, blade, poison, blunt object, or bare hands is used, the crime is the same, it is murder. Murder is not something that was invented with the gun. Using a gun is really the least violent way. Bare hands is the most violent, then blunt object or bladed weapon. Also I saw this one thing online and it said: Guns don't kill people gaping holes in vital organs do.
  • Rappers do! Call the police WOO WOO WOO !
  • Yes people kill people but we created the gun to do just that. It was not invented to do hunting as some books stated it was intended for war times as a way to kill more people/indians. The musket had a bayonett on the end of it for when they ran out of ammo & for those close encounters. PLEASE PEOPLE INVENTED THIS TO KILL PEOPLE
  • I have a couple of thought on this.... While this statement is manifestly true, it is ALSO true that having a gun makes it a heck of lot EASIER for people to kill people. I wonder if there's some statistical method that would show how many people would still be alive if someone holding a just-fired gun was holding a baseball bat instead. Furthermore, if "[Implements] don't kill people...", why should your next-door neighbor not be allowed to own any weapon he/she wants? Bazookas, M1 tanks, Sarin gas, tactical nuclear missiles, whatever. If the people are the problem, how do you justify denying law-abiding citizens infinite firepower? OTOH, one of the cogent points that emerged from Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine"...was that it's not the guns, it's the people (or their society). Moore noted that the nation of Canada, which has similar gun ownership per capita as the United States and is culturally similar, has FAR less gun violence than the US. He posits a few theories about this, none of which have enough evidence to be credible. But he is on to something. We need to figure out WHY Canada (and much of the rest of the world) has the guns to kill people, but NOT the people to kill people. Once we understand that, then we have a rational basis for figuring out how to address the problem of gun-related violence. . . . Devo:Big Mess I AM COWBOY KIM COWBOY KIM I AM I AM A LUCKY COWBOY LET ME TELL YOU WHY I'M A MAN WITH A MISSION A BOY WITH A GUN I GOT A PICTURE IN MY POCKET OF THE LUCKY ONE I'LL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER ON THE RADIO WITH MY MICROPHONE I DO A SUPER SHOW I WEAR A COWBOY HAT IT IS MY BUSINESS HAT I'M ON TILL 1:00 A.M. • Weapons of any sort are just the tools or the means to commit a violent crime such as killing.
  • People were killing one another long before the first firearm was ever made and they'll be killing each other long after firearms are only museum pieces. We're right on the verge of "directed energy weapons" which will have as their working components mostly the same thing as we find in computers and other electronics. What then? Energy & Electonics kills people!? When do we stop trying to treat a symptom and deal with the cause??? Hate and intolerance. As long as humans carry that baggage you can take away every firearm in the world and people will be killing each other without missing a beat!
  • people kill people not guns people kill people with guns people should not have guns at all only the law enforcement are allow to have guns to pretect the citizions and the inosent okay it is against the law to kill people did you ever hear about buying a gun for a criminal is against the law you will be arrested and you will goto jail and prism for life
  • people kill people. never seen a gun that could pull the trigger itself.
  • i said only the law enforcement are allow to have guns to pretect them and us as a inosent person a criminal is not allow to have a gun at all okay
  • Guns don't kill people any more than hammers drive nails by themselves. There has to be a person holding the tool.
  • People
  • People kill people :)
  • People kill people, guns just help out
  • Nether, its the bullet (.357 wad cutters should do the trick)
  • People kill people, but guns make it a hell of a lot easier. Lets look at a some spree killings. They seem to involve mostly American adults and sometimes children killing lots of other people with LEGAL guns. When we get to lots of bats or kitchen knife spree killers then I may change my mind, after all, guns are designed to kill people. Kitchen knives are designed to cut food, and bats are designed to play cricket or baseball.
  • Yes. Both statements are true. That's why this is such a foolish position for the NRA to use as a justification.
  • Put a loaded gun on a table and tell it to kill. Odds are it's just going to sit there.
  • People kill people; guns can not fire themselves!!
  • People kill people. Guns just make it easier to accomplish.
  • People with guns kill people.
  • People pull the trigger - but triggers should be much less readily available than they are.
  • Guns don't kill people, video Games do!!!
  • people do
  • People kill people.
  • Guns do!! I've seen it!! The grow legs under light of the moon, and go to peoples houses to shoot them!! Then they move the bodies to make it look like the people weren't sleeping when they were shot. It's a conspiracy.
  • People kill people with the aid of guns but guns cannot kill people without a finger on the trigger.
  • People kill people!
  • People kill people with guns more efficiently.
  • Well, since guns are inanimate objects, they can't exactly *do* anything. When a person uses a gun to kill another, the person is punished; not the gun.
  • Guns don't think. Guns don't display emotions.
  • People kill people, it's them that are in control of the weapon
  • People kill people, but the guns help a freaking lot
  • People kill people and they do it with guns. And knives. And bombs. And cars. And poison. And even their bare hands. Can't blame everything on the gun.
  • Guns aren't killers -- people are.
  • people kill people
  • Neither my friend, magic missiles kill people.
  • Niether its the projectile that does the damage
  • a gun is a thing without its own thinking...it is not its fault if its use to do violence... so i go for people...
  • people with guns kill people
  • People kill people. The gun is just a weapon. People use all sorts of weapons, from guns to knives to two by fours.
  • people KILL people guns are just a tool they cant be blamed, people are responsible for there own actions.
  • A gun is a tool, the purpose of which is solely to destroy. That is only possible with the person who wields the weapon. Therefore my answer would that it is people who kill people
  • Couldn't be more true. You need a person to pull the trigger, press the button, pull the lever etc. The best safety for a weapon the person holding it obviously. If you want to get really deep, with any weapon really you need a person to make it kill someone. That goes for a fork, a car, a poisonous substance... It is all people doing it.
  • True. A gun lying on the floor with noone pulling the trigger would kill noone. However a person, with or without a gun, is capable of killing.
  • I hear that people were killing each other even before guns were invented. Why, the man on the TV said that even now, some people are using big knives to do the job. Errr, that means, "True".
  • if a child accidentally shoots him/herself and dies. id say the gun did the work. people do kill people, sometimes without guns... guns just make it easier. true.
  • This is one of those silly aphorisms that diverts the focus from the real situation. Everyone knows that guns need someone to pull the trigger but guns really were made to kill things, it's not like they were invented for target practice purposes only. Here's an alternative statement. People use guns to kill people. People also use other weapons to kill people.
  • True.:(
  • kind of, it depends how you use the gun, its gotta have bullets in it if you're gonna pull the trigger tokill someone, in that case guns dont kill people, bullets kill people.
  • actually, it is the lack of oxygen supplied to the brain that kills people. but the oxygen is carried by blood, and blood is supplied by the heart, and the blood might be leaving through a "hole" in the body, and the hole was created by a bullet, and the bullet was propelled from an explosion, and the explosion was created by gun powder, and gun powder was ignighted by a gun, and the gun was fired by.....a person. And that person was raised by other people, and taught by other people, and watched violence on television, and heard about violence in music, and was born into a race with a very long history of violence. so blame whoever or whatever you want. without addressing what the real issues is, you will never solve the problem.
  • Husbands who come home early from fishing kill people!! Ha ha, just joking. People point and pull the trigger, guns can't kill people. If it weren't for guns, people would just find another way to kill someone.
  • gunskill people. Lots of people have guns and responsibly use and care for them. Stupid people also get hold of guns and kill people. Even though I have lost my father and just recently my step-father to guns I still believe that guns should be legal, they are a constitutional right and taking guns away from people will never cure stupidity
  • A gun is just a tool that can be used to kill people, no different from a knife. If someone wants to kill someone else, even if all weapons were banned, they'd still find a way--there are plenty of household items that can be used as weapons. We'd be a lot better off if we all stopped fixating on the MEANS that people kill people with, and started concentrating on WHY people kill people, and fixing that. So in short, people kill people.
  • Does the pen mis-spell the word?
  • It's a double edged sword just like anything else. Man created fire and it can bring warmth to people and cook food but it can also cause devastation when used in the wrong way. So people kill people, blaming an object is stupid.
  • it is people who kill one another. It is the difference in their ideas and their high ego to be superior which make them unable to accept others ideas . their thinking, their mindset and sometimes situation make people do things.
  • A gun is an inanimate object. It cannot commit murder. Without a person a gun cannot kill. Okay, so I suppose that isn't completely true. I have heard stories about weapons being discharged by hunting dogs and perhaps a monkey could...ummm never mind.
  • Personally, I believe bullets kill more people than guns.
  • a true statement.
  • Guns don't kill people, people kill people...... people with guns.
  • people will kill people......take away the gun and he will pick up a rock +5
  • It's true. There is no auto shoot button on a gun. Somebody's gotta pull the trigger.
  • Is it the person pushing the button to launch a nuclear missile, or is the nuclear bombs that the missile releases at the targets that kill people? The argument, put up by the defence attorney, would be that the person doesn't kill anyone just by pushing a button. So, using the same argument, the person pulling the trigger doesn't kill anyone just by pulling the trigger, it's the bullet that kills people. I know this is a flawed argument from start to finish but it was fun thinking about it, thank you! +4
  • Nut jobs will still find ways to get guns.
  • blaming guns for killing people is like blaming a pencel for mispelled word
  • Guns just make it easier.
  • No the news, government, and television kill people by scaring the sh*t of us and forcing us to constantly leave in fear.
  • Very true.
  • How about "Guns dont kill people, guns help people kill people?"
  • People make decisions and gun is just a weapon. If there were no guns, someone would be using some other weapon that could kill. Therefore, I agree with that statement.
  • the gun certainly helps
  • People do kill people, but I'm not really into defending guns.
  • People have been killing people since LONG before guns were invented. Therefore, the statement is true.
  • Guns don't kill people by themselves. People with guns can kill other people if they decide to discharge their gun and manage to hit their [human] target. So guns are only one kind of a variety of weapons which are built/manufactured with a view to them being used for killing...unless of course you're just out for a bit of target-practice.
  • Yeah. But if You have easier access to guns, You're more likely to feel the "courage" to kill someone and it's easier to kill a person if You have one, than if You don't. . It's better to be hit with a fist than with a bullet.
  • Yeh, I suppose thats right. A gun really cant kill unless someones pulling the trigger...
  • People kill people period. I'll turn mine in after we verify all others have been destroyed.
  • first off they never should have givin citizens guns bc if they hadnt then we wouldnt have dangerous gangs ppl could only use there fist. second guns do kill ppl but it takes the help from a retarded messed up person to pull the trigger on another human
  • I think you would have to be stone cold stupid to not agree with this; put your neck in my hand and let me squeeze, is it me thats chocking you our is it my hand?
  • That's a true statement. Now, as is evidenced by some of the responses here, there are those who feel that an evil person can kill more easily with a gun. There is truth in that statemnt, but there's another side to that coin. There was a time, before manufacturing technology made firearms affordable to the common man, that simply being bigger and stronger than your victim made it easier to kill them. The firearm, particularly the handgun, was the great equalizer. No longer did the woman, the small in stature, the aged or infirmed, or one who did not possess adequate fighting skills need to walk in fear of being hopelessly overmatched. If guns are taken away, will those of greater natural strength or fighting skill be somehow justified in the murders they commit? Will the weak and infirmed feel safer?
  • A LITTLE GUN HISTORY In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control.. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.. In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1..5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.. Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million. You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late! With guns, we are 'citizens.' Without them, we are 'subjects'. During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED! The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental. SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN! SWITZERLAND 'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE. SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!! THOSE WHO BEAT THEIR SWORDS INTO PLOWSHARES WILL PLOW FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T!
  • True statement! But in reality it's not the guns, It's the bullets! Unless of course you pistol whip someone to death. But this action also requires the actions of an individual.
  • I haven't heard this one since Burt Lancaster ran that gun nut club. If you die of a gunshot wound, what was it that killed you? I think it was the thing that caused the wound, wouldn't you say?
  • yah u rite......people kill people.....but in ma langue we call killers "the gunz"....or haired gunz...so gunz kill people
