  • if its guys horn, if its a girl im getting outa the car.
  • I Get out and Knock on their door. My horn is for dogs that chase my car every single time I pass them, hopefully the owners will hear and get annoyed. I Love Dogs but not when I know they are going to cause an accident.
  • I must knock on their door. My car's horn doesn't work anymore so I need to do this. Ever since my transmission went and I fixed it, my horn and radio don't work. Yeah it sucks but I make do.
  • always knock, honking is annoying.
  • It depends on the weather. (and what I'm wearing...) I only really get out. I think its rude to honk and I don't think the people would hear. (at least I don't hear all the time...) haha :D
  • Nope I walk up to the door.
  • Definately get out of the car and knock on the door. I hate beeping in front ... I think it is really rude!
  • I walk up to the door. Anyone who just honks and expects someone to "come running" is arrogant and their behavior is disgusting. How rude- to treat someone like Pavlov's dog. :(
  • I was always raised to knock on someone's door, however if I'm too lazy to get out, I will definitely call on the cell phone to let the person know that I am outside. I am currently in a situation where my fiancee's child's mother comes over honking like a got loose omonkey whenever she comes to get her son. I have asked my fiancee to aks her to please refrain from doing so and to just call and we will have him ready at the door. However, she feels that I should have come down and told her myself so she continues to honk and blatantly does it to be rude and childish (I actually heard her honk the horn after my fiancee went back upstairs and he came back down and said "what?". She replied, "oh, nothing", laughed and pulled off. My fiancee has now told me that he told her and she won't listen so now it's my problem and I need to go tell her. AND he had the audacity to take her side and calling me stuck up because I said I someone who does that has no class. Mind you she send her child over to my house and I have helped him numerous of times with his homeowrk/school projects, bought him books to read, etc. And this is the repayment I get!
  • Nowadays, I just text message them from the car. If they don't have TM, then I wait a few minutes without honking the horn. If all else fails, yes, I would honk. But it won't be my first choice.
  • i knock on the door. mainly because i dont want to contribute to noise pollution ~ it can be annoying to the neighbors, and id feel bad about disturbing someones sleep. also, it sounds obnoxious and i dont want to give the impression that im an impatient person. people shouldnt have to come over to you like a dog. a doorbell or door knocker is much more civil.
  • I never honk my horn to announce my arrival, that's kind of obnoxious in my opinion. If they are expecting me, I expect that they will be watching for me. If they don't appear after about 5 minutes, I call them from my cell phone or I knock on the door.
  • I don't honk for people. If they don't see me pull up in my car, I'll go knock on their door and see if they are ready and if I can ado anything to help.
  • I get out and knock on their door. I wasn't raised in a trailer park.
  • Oh my god, no. I always get out and knock on the door. Honking is soooo rude. I had an ex that used to do that to me, I just found it unbelievably crass. The only time I think it's ok is if there is some pre-arranged reason for it, like if both parties agree that because there's a train to catch or something, yeah "Just pull up and honk and I'll come right out." Otherwise, it's a big no-no for me.
  • obviously if you have anyyyyyy manners you would get out and walk up to the door but if your in a rush you could call the person and then let them come out. If they don't come out you can then honk and if they don't come out then then you can honk. otherwise no honking because it is EXTREMELY rudeee!
  • I either yell or use my cell phone.
  • I get out and knock ... unless it is raining, in which case I call them on my cell phone. . I also take two steps back from the door. .
  • Yes.+5
  • I always get out and knock on the door.
  • Honking is kinda rude. I try to set it up so they expect me and come out more or less on time. I think instead of knocking on the door, I'd call on the cellphone.
  • I don't think I ever honked my car or truck horn/ I knocked the door some guys used to do this to pick up there *dates* this is very disrespctfull for the girl~~ but then again maybe the girl did not want her parents or others to see who she was dating?
  • I work on a site that is always lock. There is no other way around blowing your horn for visitors, but my supervisor have cell #, but refuse to call. Honk Honk! Honk Honk! Honk Honk! and little me coming running out like the dog he must think I am! But this is it-- No more- I've done had the last honk I going to have. Treat other as you would treat yourself!!!!. All Honk out!
  • I usually just call/text them to let them know I'm there. It's convenient for lazy people that don't want to make a scene.
  • Neither, they know I'm coming and approximately what time I'll be there... People I've picked up: My daughter, from her dad's house. A boy I work with. If I need to alert them to my arrival, I call their cell. If a date was coming to pick me up and didn't come to the door, we wouldn't be going on the date. - This is a relatively new rule for myself...my second husband came to pick me up for our first date. He didn't come to the door. When I got in his vehicle, I asked "Are you afraid of my dog?" He said "No, I didn't see a dog." I said "Yeah, I don't have one. I just wondered why you didn't come to the door." Yes, I'm a smart ass. Yes, I married him anyway. We were married for 6 years, and in that 6 years, he displayed many times his inability to "step-up". I will take that as a sign for any future relationships.
