  • <h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Three to Four Per Guest, Minimum

When people go through a buffet line, they tend to grab a stack of napkins. You should make sure that your guests have plenty of napkins when they need one. Additionally, some will want to take one home as a memento of your special day.

On the Other: One to Two Per Guest

Guests should be handed their napkins while going through a buffet line and should be limited to one to two per person. There is no reason why excess napkins should be purchased to simply be wasted and thrown in the trash. One to two per person is plenty.

    Bottom Line

Regardless, your wedding needs napkins. Plain napkins could be purchased and not unwrapped as back-up as needed, if cost is an issue. Consider the guests coming to the wedding and plan according to your expected food. The messier the food, the more napkins needed.
