  • You can be liberal or conservative. You can be black or white. You can be gay or straight but when you start using those words as negative name calling versus describing a person or oneself isn't that highly disrespectful? I say yes
  • Lol, I know EXACTLY what you are referring to, Sara, and I agree with you about names. Nobody should use other's identities as pejoratives, whether they are liberals, conservatives, atheists, Christians, Muslims, prostitutes, black, white, Mexican, whatever. It makes you sound like a dipsh*t when you spout off names like that which are typically used to describe someone's cultural, political, ethnic, or sexual identity, and the people who do this, in my experiences at least, are highly uneducated or uninformed.
  • Because Liberals are all godless baby murdering Marxist communists, who want to destroy the United States and make it a comfortable place for our ultimate goal, a New USSR!!!....Or so the neo-cons would have people believe.
  • I don't understand that much myself. I mean, I've rarely hear the word "conservative" used as a pejorative, but I've heard "liberal" and "democrat" used that way, often combined with the word "faggot" to spice it up. I suppose it could be because those who oppose liberals are more likely to insult someone for having a certain belief or ideology.
  • I think Ron Silver and Jimmy Smits summed it up pretty well on The West Wing....;-D... . . .
  • I'm confused too. Conservatives don't want anything to change in fact they are really closet Reactionaries and want to go back to the "goood old days" whatever that means. That makes Liberals (their complete and total opposite) progressive, forward-thinking and interested in improving things and making them better than they were. It is easy peasy to differentiate among them, especially these days of incivility, disrespect and irrational behavior! :(
  • You're intelligent and good looking. Like me. I'm so ashamed.
  • In Theology, a "liberal theologian" is a term often used to describe someone as a theologian who does not believe in the inspiration of scripture, or someone who uses culture or their own preferences as a higher authority than the Bible. . I suppose that might be why it could be considered negative in conservative circles.
  • I believe the right-wing talk show hosts coordinate with one another to manipulate their gullible listeners into voting against their own best interests. Remember, for everyone with IQ above 100 (which liberals call 'normal') there has to be a gullible 'conservative' with IQ <100 to balance things out. It's Nature's way. • Its not a bad word. It`s the people who use it that way that are bad.
  • I assume because the people who use it are conservatives and think people who are liberal are not great people. I'm liberal and I'm proud of it. But everyone has their own way and there will always be people who don't like that "way".
