I've been there. Except for Bourbon St. and the French Quarter, the rest of N.O. is a shithole. Katrina did that town a favor. The first thing I think of is Concrete Jungle. Overburdened with crime, corruption, tourist trap. The architecture and history is lovely, but the reality is dismal. If you have a permit to carry concealed, do so.

My great grandfather who came there from France and had his cutlery business and home on Burbon Street in the 1800's. Of course I never met him but his grave is in the well known cemetary there in N. O. or was until the hurricane came through.
