  • The last time was the beginning of this past summer. I've never backed them up since, I really should. The only thing is my computer is broken(I'm on my mom's for the time being). Thanks for reminding me, I'll finish when I get my computer back!!!
  • Never. I just got it and there is nothing on it yet to back up. My step son is coming for Easter break and he's gonna do it for me then.
  • 2 weeks ago, I try to backup every month or two.
  • I don't have any important data on my computer. So I guess my answer is 'never.'
  • I just cleaned my drive last weekend and done a full backup then.
  • hahahahahahhahahahahahaa...oh wait you're serious?........oh...um...I would have to say abooouuuuuuuttt.................never.
  • I backed up all of the digital photos on my computer to an external hard drive about a month ago. I also do regular backups of other data between two computers on my network. I used to keep copies of the photos on CD ROMs, but I have WAY too many now.
  • I created a Ghost image of my PC a week ago. I try to do that at least 3 times a year. My personal files get copied to at least 3 other places (DVD; other PC; external HDD) about once a month. Yeah, I'm anal.
  • Every night, the contents of my harddrive are backed up to an FTP server that I have in an off-site location.
  • Just recently. However I learned the hard way, my Windows XP system crashed and lost important information, my technician only could retrieve some of it. I didn't have a CD burner so I had one installed, and now I try to make copies of important files just in case.
  • Last week. After the last time of losing most of my data due to a MS update. I use USB sticks for the in progress stuff, and my Lacie external hard drive to backup the C drive. I also use MozBackup for my FireFox Favs and my ThunderBird Mail program.
  • Two days ago. Depending on what you use your computer for. A business should backup daily. Personal computers that have data like Quicken, email, documents pertaining to one's personal life should be backed up anytime the data changes. My Game computer is backed up everytime I reload it after a crappy game crashes it, it is called an image. Want to know more about backing up your system and how to do it? Try this web site: www.diy-computer-repair.com click on Backup button on the nav bar. Remember: Your reovery is only as good as the last backup. For those that Never backup, good luck, yer gonna need it.
  • Personal data at home, every sunday night to disks, then to tape.
  • I have an external (USB/Firewire) hard drive that I leave connected to my work laptop. Every night at 10PM Norton Ghost backs everything up to my drive. I've tested it by grabbing another laptop of the same model and restoring to it, and all of my stuff was identical to my laptop. Pretty nice. I don't back up my stuff at home, except my tax info, onto Zip disks.
  • Well it used to be never, till i lost 20gb of mp3's. Now I have a mirror HD so my data is backed up al the time.
  • Just after it crashed a few weeks ago....
  • I never have. I wouldn't know how to if I wanted to! My whole life is in my computer though, so maybe I will have to learn!
  • I think most people never backup their data, which is good for us considering I'm working for an IT company specializing in data recovery.:-)
  • You should do a full backup once, and then an incremental every day or week, or whenever you update important data. Cobian Backup 8 is a good piece of open source software that makes it easy to back anything up to a folder, external hard drive, even to an FTP server. It supports incremental, differential, and other backup types as well.
  • i never do O.o im the tech officer so i deal with lost data and i fix the problem... for example today some let1 (new guy) who wiped off everything (and somehow screwed up bios) on a school computer... HOW?! i dont know but i restored it and made it faster... yet thats my job since the IT doesn't deal with Military/JROTC computers... i recommend doing it just because it makes it easier for recoveries =D
  • I copy all "new" files every Sunday to a "new file CD" ... and I do a full system backup every time I install something new, even just an update or a patch.
  • The last time i F-disked my computer
  • Half an hour ago.
  • Never. I think my dad did a while ago though.
  • Uh oh - I guess that's something I need to do...
  • Yesterday.
  • Never, though when I was trying to format Windows XP to an external hard drive, I lost about 5-10GB worth of stuff. But I still haven't learned my lesson.
