When we still lived on our property in Pennsylvania, my hubby had to pick up more than once after a black bear, eventhough the big garbage can was put out of the garage onto the curb side the same morning the garbage truck was going to come. At one time the entire can was found by hubby in the neighboring woods, it had bite marks all over it. Now - living in a RV Resort - we are not allowed to put garbage outside. We have it in an inside trash bin until we close the bag and bring it to the dumpster. There are always big birds around or feral dogs and cats and racoons and here at the coast in Texas seagulls en masse. Campers have to watch their BQ grills closely because those seagulls lift the meat right off those in the right moment, right under your nose....

I would have to say raccoons, there are a lot of them around here, but the only animal I have ever SEEN rummaging through my trash was a skunk.

My neighbours cat. He just smoothly rips the bag open and dives in for a snack. He's a cheecky little bastard and I have a huge soft spot for him. :)
