I disagree. When you drink something icy cold your stomach must heat it up fast to avoid being cooled down to below where it can function. It does that by speeding up your metabolism This heat the cold water alright but it also make rest of you get even hotter. So It is better to drink something salty and lukewarm (so you can sweat a lot).

actually room temprature water is better, it will quench your thirst faster.

try fresh lemon juice and a dash of salt in water. and tell me after that if you feel thirsty on a hot summers day

I suppose people will argue that it ought to be body temperature, but heck with them. I love ice cold water when I am hot and thirsty.

yes......gatorade does have some more minerals in it to replace the salts that you lose from sweat....but, gatorade is more expensive than water.....if you can afford gatorade, then buy it....but, water is usually best.......take care.....Brian.......

Ice cold water can give you a headache sometimes it you are really hot...but over all, water will quench thirst better than just about anything...

No. Raspberry ice tea is my favorite. I know it has a lot of sugar but it perks me up real quick.
