Regardless of the age or the position of the person addressing me, I find it to be more comfortable for me, if a person addressing me uses my first name, because I'm not "better" than anyone, IMHO. I don't believe in any American "caste" system, such as they have in India. +5

It doesn't matter to me either way. I do work with veterans a lot, though, so I'm used to being "ma'am-ed".

I always address women as maadam in my life ,beause i respect all women and as they are nice to deal with them and honest.

It does not bother me if someone calls me sir. It will make me think who ever called me that was being kind and respectful.

I prefer they call me by first name or maybe Mr _____. I think "Sir" sounds very old and stuffy. And, by the way, I hate it if they address me as ma'am! lol!

Yes. At my age (78) I feel comfortable if respect is given for elderly.

No, I prefer either my first name, or if I'm being addressed by someone much younger, then by my last name with a Mr in front of it.

When I'm at my Taekwondo school, I demand it. Outside of that venue, I am indifferent to it.
