  • Not if you skip to the "dirty" parts.
  • Any book read without understand is very boring indeed. The Bible is difficult if one is unaware of the meanings behind, the history of the time and especially the reasons for the language used. This was 2,000 years ago and the thought and mind set was waaay different back then.
  • I never thought I prefer Shakespeare. It's written rather in hopes anyone can understand it. In that fashion it somewhat timeless.
  • It can be to some, but if one truely reads it, trying to find the meaning behind the words, relating those words written thousands of years ago; it can be quite interesting as well. When I was living on my own in a town where I knew no one, I turned to reading the Bible. I learned things that I didn't know where in there. Inspirational words.
  • Yes, before I asked Jesus to forgive my sin and come into my life, I didn't understand the Bible and thought it was pretty boring myself. After He came into my life, I became a new creation and I was able to understand and love the Bible in a way I never could before.
  • Its like trying to Read Shakespeare, Try reading a newer version. There are actually fascinating stories.
  • Yeppers
  • I think the bible is an awesome read, and often hilarious but then I'm not a christian. Consider the story of Judah's sons in Genesis. Two sons, Er and Onan. But god didn't like Er, so he killed him for no reason. Then Judah wanted his brother to sleep with the newly widowed wive of Er (maybe he wanted to get his money's worth). But right before Onan cums, he begins to have second thoughts about fcuking his dead brother's wife. So he pulls out (spilling his "seed" onto the ground). God is dismayed by the wasting of good semen, so he kills Onan too. Now maybe this is not laugh out loud funny, but you have to appreciate how petty god is in this story. The whole old testament is this way!
  • Majority of the literate world would think so today.
  • Parts of it are boring, but other parts are fascinating. If you watch the movies based on the Bible first, it becomes a more interesting read.
  • Just thinking of it me puts, sorry... puts me to... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  • I find it pretty boring these days. Will I go to Hell for that? According to a lot of people, I probably will. Oh well.
  • When the reader has met Jesus and has the Holy Spirit for guidance, the Bible is extremely interesting.
  • Yes and no. It does have some very good stories but they need fleshing out. Only if you read it as a collection of fiction stories though.
  • It is tedious to read page for page. But it is ok to flip through and reference.
  • If all you are looking for is something to entertain you for a few minutes, there are plenty of video games, Ipods and novels to entertain those who don't want to put the effort into thinking.
  • no...but it is a BOOK that is read and understood soley by the LIGHT/ATTITUDE in which one reads and studies and thinks with .....:)
  • No, not at all. I disagree. I do agree with Jesus when he said to God: “Your word is truth.” (John 17:17) The apostle Paul wrote that God’s will is that “all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3, 4) Our time reading the Bible is well spent.
  • no it is good book and you can learn the meaning of life.
  • It's got some good stories and the language, at least in the King James version, is very poetic. But on the other hand, there are all those 'begat's.
  • No I thought it was quite interesting
  • I think it is pretty exciting to read! Been reading it for about 40 years now and still find it exciting and new each time I read it!
  • No, but thanks for asking +2. It is deep though, and not a light and easy book to read. It really makes you reflect on yourself and think hard.
  • I find it extremely interesting and I know the Author personally. :)
  • The history of how it was written and put together is alot more interesting than the text itself.
  • Anyone who says no hasn't read the whole thing. Good god, the thing has census results and all those begats after begats after begats. No one sincerely enjoys that crap.
  • I don't, but then again, it's been quite awhile since I read it cover to cover.
  • No. There are boring parts of information and blood lines. But there are alot of good stories in there. Love stories, betrayal, kindness, missions, journeys, defeats, war....greatness, empires falling... You just gotta get into it. Plus theres all the good stuff that goes deep into the heart. Wisdom, knowledge.... youll learn to find patience...how? (its in there) What is love?...(well its in there) Everything you really need to know is in there. I dont think its boring... Infact I have not an issue in my life that I cannot figure out, find a solution too...overcome, or fall short of completing. I suppose its through all the different words that come out of the bible.
  • I do think that the Bible is an extremely boring book to read because how do we know that any of those events really happened. What tangible evidence do we have that that was not just someone writing a great story?
