Beans and rice. I always have about 10 pounds of beans and rice cooked and on hand for whenever I get hungry. It costs less than $40 a month to stock up on them, and along with a bottle of centrum you won't die from malnutrition for another month.

If you're really are starving, simply few crackers and water while you're cooking is a really good idea, followed by a salad with vinegar dressing and a half an avocado, while the fish and chips cook all with a glass of wine or two, then end it with miso soup. Just try it once. You won't feel hungry until the next morning because it's so jam packed with things your body needs. If you eat just that, and nothing else, your whole life, you'd be 10x healthier than anyone you know. If you're looking for something easy and satisfying. Learn to make a roux sauce with curry or paprika and pour it over some boiled potato slices. Start with your spices on medium heat, and let them roast until you can smell them. Then add a butter. After it's mixed, water it down to make more of it, then slowly add flour. You can adjust the thickness from there. It should be like a thick pancake mix when you're done. But remember to boil your potato slices before adding them to the sauce. Be sure to taste test a lot while you're making it too. It's hard to figure out, but once you get it, you'll be a pro. The beauty in this is that you can use butter or oil, and you can make so many different types of flavors. It's a beautiful meal, in my opinion.
