I don't ADD sugar or salt to any of my food, and I try to purchase prepared food with as few additives as possible. There are some spice blends that are very flavorful which you can use instead of salt. Sugar substitutes are a bit more difficult, especially if you are trying to control blood sugar. Stevia (brand name Truvia) is the best I've found so far; it is made from the Chrysanthimum plant.

I do NOT add any sugar and seldomly salt to ANY of my foods or drinks ... If I have like cornflakes ; they are eaten just like they come from the box with a 1/2 cup of Milk .... NO Sugar. If I fix kool aid ... NO sugar etc ... NONE of my food gets salted with regular salt . Occassionally, I will use about a 1/4 taspoon or less of lite salt by Morton, on a meat. +5

The only thing I do salt is pasta with butter sauce or homemade popcorn. Everything else I don't add salt to. It's hard to eat prepared foods actually, because everything is too salty for my tastes. I use a lot of sugar. I love it! For some reason I really crave it but I try to eat more fructose than sucrose.
