That all depends on your reason for wanting to do so.

For a time, maybe, it can help you "work" on yourself. Make you stronger, if you do it right, before you go out in the world again. But remember, you CAN'T separate yourself from your responsibility to your fellow man. Not ultimately. No man is an island, and all that. And you can't separate yourself from YOURSELF. The problems you might be trying to escape might not be so easily escaped. Having said, solitude in and of itself is NOT the bad thing people make it out to be. Knowing how to be alone (successfully) is a mature talent.

Not really. I guess it depends on the reason. If you want to do it in order to not have to deal with life, then that's not a good reason. But if you are surrounded by people who try to influence you to do bad things or something, it's a reasonable desire to isolate yourself. Really depends on the situation.

Isolation is very healthy at times in your life. It can be mentally,physycally and spiritually enlightening. My guess is that if you're craving it - you need it. Absolutely do what u can to get it. All things must have balance. Don't overdo the solitude and don't overdo the social. Sometimes we get so busy in our lives. Family,friends,work,play,entertainment... It all piles up on you. You may find that you don't have peace of mind. By all means take time to be alone and find that peace of mind. DEFINATELY HEALTHY.

No it depends on the reason why! Is it to be by yourself or maybe to escape from pressure or even do you not want any contact with people at all! Good luck what ever you decide to do!
