Have you ever been in the middle of a wild river,on a sand bar,when you suddenly realised the sand bar was sinking?..If so,what did you do?

i was on a sand bar, and the dam around the corner opened up. the water was getting deeper in minutes. i raced and waded water to get to the river bank. a similar experience.

Our family was fishing in the Arkansas river.We took a break by getting off the boat to walk on a sandbar.It was a clean sandbar,no weeds or driftwood,etc....Then we saw that the boat was starting to float(after we had pulled it up on land well).Daddy said "get in the boat,FAST" And we took off...Sand bars appear and then disappear in the Arkansas.And when they sink they can create a whirlpool that can suck you under!..So I would say that clean weedfree sand bars in that river are not too safe..As we looked back it disappeared completely!
