  • Under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the author of 1 and 2 Samuel wrote this beautiful love story between David and Jonathn aand saw no conflict between it and the earlier Scriptures in Leviticus. Apparently the author of 1 and 2 Samuel understood the Leviticus passage the same way we do, seeing it as a condemnation of Canaanite temple sex which, therefore, had no application to a deep romantic relationship between two men who loved and served the God of Israel.

My bible does not say any such thing.

You are basically correct daiko. The Lord God is more concerned about love than who we love.

Thinker, you have no idea what you're saying. You are only deceiving yourself to satisfy the desires of the flesh.
  • All-Scripture is given by inspiration of God. I don't see why you would cherry pick the passage of Samuel to justify homosexuality, and ignore all the other passages that condemn homosexuality.

What type of homosexuality is condemned in the Bible? It does not condemn adult consensual non-pagan, non-pederasty homosexuality as the church has for so many years misquoted from the Bible. The homosexuality condemned in the Bible are those acts used in the pagan worship of that time. The Lord God did not want the Hebrews to incorporate sexual acts in their worship. It was even required the priests to wear underwear when above the people during worship lest it give the hint of sex during worship. It could be liken to placing other gods before the Lord God. Also pederasty was very common in the Old Testament because of the children captured in battle and in the New Testament as well where children were stolen or purchased. These children, prepubescent boys were turned into playthings by the older men. These young boys were brutalized by those men.

The bible specifically says "Thou shalt not lie with a man as with a woman." It also says a man is not to wear woman's clothing, and woman is not to wear man's clothing. No amount of mealy-mouthed reasoning will ever get around that.

You didn't read very well what I said. and where in the Bible does it say about wearing of clothes of opposite sex. Book, chapter verse.

Thinker, this account was given to me. I am making sure all the answers on this account are in order. Anyways, homosexuality is an abomination to God. Nowhere can you prove that it's not. Quote: "homosexuality as the church has for so many years misquoted from the Bible." God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

Thinker, you asked: "where in the Bible does it say about wearing of clothes of opposite sex. Book, chapter verse." Use some reasoning. The Bible states that any person should wear appropriate clothing, 1 Corinthians 14:40 "Let all things be done decently and in order." The key words are: "Let all things." What then do you suppose? That a man wear a women's dress and still please God?
  • Based on your answer, the passage of Samuel does not support homosexuality. Sure, David said in (2 Samuel 1:26), that his love for Jonathan was more wonderful than the love of women. Now, the answer to your question is based on the definition of love. The word love also means kindness. What David said is that his love for Jonathan was more kindly compared to a woman's kindliness. All it takes is an open mind to grasp David's statement.
  • What most people know about the Lord God, the Lord Jesus and even Christianity is what they learn in a church from a preacher who teaches more of their church doctrine rather than the Word of the Lord God. Too many preachers stand in the pulpit and deliver lies to their people because they will not study and learn the truth of the Bible. If you wish to learn the truth and how to discover the truth get and read the book, "The Royal Law of Liberty" by Darwin Chandler.
