It depends on your definition of "third world country"...i.e., the narrow sense, being Africa, or the sense being severely poverty striken countries. I've already visited two of which insofar as the narrow sense. But I have visited several others insofar as the broader sense, as well. It's all relative. Due to sensitivities and respect, I will not specify any them, broad or narrow. If things don't improve rapidly, there may be many, many more "third world countries" come about than what appear on the world map today. +5

I have done many times - I recommend it to EVERYONE!! It changes your whole perception of the world. It isn't just a sad experience either; it can be an incredibly inspirational and beautiful one too. I am currently looking for a job or placement in Sudan for after I finish my masters. I can't wait!

I live in Britian and in tersm of medical services and banking it is third world. But in terms of the phrase yes I have been to many third world countries in Africa.
