They revoked my membership when they realized I was an actor. Those guys just aren't on the up and up.
-
Past member. Was a member for 3 months long ago, and decided it was a load of crap, and I didn't need it. Nor did it prove anything to me or to others I really care about who know me.
-
I became a member last July, but it hasn't changed my life or anything. They keep sending me magazines and newsletters but I'm not really interested.

I've been a member of Mensa since 1970. Along with 53,000 other members, I have found it to be a very worthwhile organization. I met my husband in the club, and he is also a life-long member. One of the first things I did as a new member was hold a book discussion meeting at my house. I met many people with interests in common. I have also organized or joined many special interest groups within the club. Many new members don't realize it is entirely a volunteer organization, and that the local groups and meetings are only as good as the members make them. I have been very active, and I have gotten a lot out of it. I suspect that is the answer; you get out of it what you put in to it. For people who join with the expectation that the club will somehow magically enrich their life, by osmosis or something, will be disappointed. People who vehhemently denounce the club usually did not put any effort in to making it _their_ club.
-
Certainly not me. I very much doubt I would qualify and if I could qualify I very much doubt I would join.
-
I got tested twice by them, both times I passed but both times I refused to pay for the subscription!
-
Count me out. I'm not even half the human that they are.
-
My IQ is sufficient for MENSA, and I have tested above the 98th percentile on standardized tests, which is their requirement, but I haven't schedualed an admission test. I really should get on that, because I can only assume it helps with getting into colleges, jobs, and, actually, I recently found out it lowers your insurance!
-
What is MENSA??
-
Yes ... ID # 7827.
-
No, I would like to be.
-
How could you tell?
-
Not smart enough.
-
I'm a member but not very active with much that my chapter does.
-
I passed their test but didn't join. I only wanted to see how I'd score. I surprised myself, but the whole idea seems kind of snobbish to me.
-
My IQ level can make me a member of Mensa, but I don't see the reason why I have to even bother joining that snobbish "organization."
-
Nope.
-
How would you go about getting in? I wouldnt have a hope, nor does it bother me, but it would be interesting to take the test just to see what its like and how I'd fare!
-
Not any more
-
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things
-
I am a card carrying member, yes.
-
Yes ...
-
Yes, but once a month....
-
I doubt I'd qualify, being the dolt I am.
-
*LOL* No, sorry, I doubt I have the qualification standards.
-
I'm a LIFE member, and have been so, since 1985.
-
No.
-
I just don't have the time. :)
-
Guess. +5

Thought about it...What do they DO? 155 gets me in, right? About average, I'd think, for that crowd.
