  • Nope, you still have to be religious, and that's a big problem itself.
  • No, I just would not make a good Catholic priest.
  • i'm a woman...and while i am grateful for my life and family...if i had it to do over again.....knowing what i know., i think i would have no problem being a missionary and dedicating my life to help others and have God as my one and only Bridegroom.....sure could...not saying there would not be temptations ,as we all have those, or struggles ,as we all do.....but i can see my life spent helping children, unfortunates, and teachimg about God... i could not be a nun..even though i respect them , simply because i do not believe in the catholic rites and rituals and dogma...but i do have respect for anyone that dedicates his life to God, righteously.... so, for me, i guess the celibacy and women only rules were the foremost in my thoughts ,but i did not feel the "calling" when i was young...but i think i could of foregone both had i had the "call"....some do and some don't ,some can and some can't....:)
  • I'm not into molesting kids. Maybe a first or second century priest when I could marry and have kids, yes. But not now.
  • I couldn't deal with the kids screaming from their cages all night.
  • We were at the convent with school, it was maybe last year, and they played us this video about becoming a priest. God, they made it look all glamorous with dramatic music, and millions of people and the pope looking all cheery and various other nice scenarios. That so could've persuaded me if I wasn't. Erm. A girl and that. But no, where I am there are no new priests. None in training at all. If there wasn't the celibacy rule, maybe that would be different. I've yet to meet a teenage boy who dreams of becoming a priest.
  • No, there's all that religion that goes along with it too.
  • No. Catholic priests get more booty - from both married women and altar boys - than anybody else in the whole world. If that weren't enough, they get to wear dresses, smoke like bats and drink like fish. What more could anyone possibly want?
  • One of my Priests told me that the Robes are a women magnet. He said before he became a priest women never ever gave him a second look . After he became a priest the women will not leave them alone even thhe very plain ones. So Celibacy is quite difficult.
  • I would never consider being a catholic, period. Definately not for me.
  • Become a what? No, I don't think so. :-)
  • People who buy into too much Catholic propaganda are to be pitied.
  • There are alot more men becoming Catholic Deacons it would seem here in the UK. You can still be married and be a Deacon so it's probably more desirable to a wider audience. Priests seem to be on the decline so I'm wondering if this is the way things will go. I think a bit along the lines of 'Thatsjustme' ~ I would have no problem if I had my time again giving my life to God and taking up a religious vocation. CC
  • Not in a miiiillllion years! :)
  • I honestly don't care about the celibacy rule but I strongly disagree with the males-only rule. I would totally become a Catholic priest if I were able to. I wouldn't care if the celibacy rule was still in effect but I want the males-only rule changed!
  • I would have become a priest when I was 18. Ten men I dated became priests, how's that for a record? Now, the Church is still in the dark ages on a traditionalist belief only, and I like men, a certain s/o and sex too much. +4
  • I took the aptitude test and got disqualified on the whole 'is there a God?' question.
