  • Because you are entitled to your opinion.
  • My guess is that you have a point to make and you want to be heard.
  • Maybe because some people dont feel your entitled to voice your thoughts, and they feel that their opion is "the "only" one that counts. Look at the dr that people get for disagreeing with Obama.
  • Because you wish to voice your opinion. Some people only think their opinion is the true one and wish to make those who disagree with them lose points.=]
  • because you are you. *L*
  • you're addicted
  • I thought the whole point of AB was for people to express their opinion. You shouldn't loose points for that unless the answer is totally rude and offensive. Points aren't all that important so I say keep saying how you feel and don't worry about it. The people taking your points are probably not going to change because they think you are wrong and their answer is the only one. It makes me wonder why they even ask except to get their belief out
  • This happens all of the time on religious category. I don't know what religion you are but I am Muslim. The thing that gets me is not the d/r but when you answer the question and I don't even think it is read. Then they launch off onto their religion. There should be more tolerance. Salaam +5
  • Probably for the same reason that I keep trying to reason with radical liberals. :P
  • religion and politics will always be issues of disagreement from both wise and stupid people.
  • Well, I'm guessing it's because you hold some very strong beliefs about religion or your a glutton for punishment. So... which is it paw?
  • You are a glutton for punishment, or you like to live on the wild side like me, LOL.
  • It doesn't matter why, just keep voicing your opinion. That's what this place is all about. Do not fear them, they are powerless.
  • Because downrates turn you on.
  • Because it's like touching wet paint to see if it's dry or pushing the button that has a sign above it that reads, Do NOT Push. We can't resist the temptation. Don't feel bad, I still do it once in a while too, just for the HELL of it !! LOL :)
  • Because it's and interesting subject and something that most people have a definate opinion about.
  • I've been downrated many times, too, for answering religious questions in manners that challenges what has been established as true; but I really don't mind the downrating--I'm not here for the points, so it makes no difference to me. I will keep answering their questions as long as they keep writing them down and the "downrating" can't stop me.
  • I often wonder the same thing and have cut way back on answering them because I don't like to argue and be called stupid or an idiot. AB is an opinion site; you may disagree with the opinion shared but in that disagreement it is not necessary to attack the person. People have their reasons they believe in there answer regardless of the subject. I try to leave a reference as to my stand but sometimes I do not have the reference or else I cannot find it among the thousands I have. Anyway...thank you for your question and the chance for me to vent about my problems with answering some questions.

  • You subconsciously want confirmation of your existence. You see... if you answer the "salt or pepper" questions you often get no response and feel neglected. By answering a religious question some response is GAURANTEED, even if it if a lewd remark or a DR. That makes you feel good because someone interacted with you, thus verifying your presence and importance. It's a ego thing.
  • It's more interesting to answer religious questions as there are bound to be some arguments.
  • I don't answer them anymore. Because when they ask the question they expect you to agree with them. If you don't they downrate you. Some people don't like to hear the truth.
