  • well personally i dont think they are delusional, i think they are fanatical.
  • Not delusional. Childish, perhaps. Evidence has less impact on them than on most people. Oh, and, no, I don't fear that I might be wrong. That'd just about the worst reason to 'believe', don't you think.
  • The same reason that christians claim atheists are delusional..Cant accept that everyone isnt going to believe what they do..Personally I think the world would have been alot better off if folks had learned to agree to disagree..and leave it at that..no killing in the name of a god..that not all believe in..no wars fought in the name of a god that not all believe in..Just my opinion..feel free to DR this..LMAO :)
  • I think people get frustrated that something so simple to them doesn't make sense to someone else.
  • Because it condems their sin.
  • They just see things the way that they want to believe... Christians do the same thing with people who don't agree with them... Like other religions... Christians think Jews are delusional...
  • Delusion: 1)an erroneous belief that is held in the face of evidence to the contrary 2)a mistaken or unfounded opinion or idea; "he has delusions of competence"; "his dreams of vast wealth are a hallucination" 3)A delusion is commonly defined as a fixed false belief and is used in everyday language to describe a belief that is either false, fanciful or derived from deception Huh, yeah I'd say belief in Christianity is a delusion of an enormous kind. There is much evidence that Christianity is incorrect.
  • For the same reason Anna Nicole Smith said Larry Birkhead, the real father of her baby daughter, was delusional.......sometimes the truth isn't what we want, so we make something up that suits us.
  • If someone you knew had an imaginary friend that they firmly believed was real, wouldn't you think they were probably delusional? What if that imaginary friend told them to do mean or cruel things? What if he told them to do horrible, evil things? What if there was evidence that directly contradicted some of the things this imaginary being said but they refused to believe it? This is how some Atheists view Christians. They see that there is no hard evidence that a God exists and that there is some evidence that indicates things in the Bible cannot be true if taken literally. Therefore, a Christian (certainly the ones who insist in a literal interpretation of the Bible) appear delusional to them.
  • They don't have faith. A lot of people have to have visual and absolute proof that something exists and others have blind faith. MO.
  • They don't. OK, you may be able to find an atheist who claims that, but the majority of atheists do not say so.
  • Because they are. Much of what Christians say they believe in, has nothing to do with what Christ said. http://www.hiddenmysteries.org/religion/christianity/piousfraud.shtml
  • Misunderstood.
  • Anyone who believes the things Christians believe like: 1. There is a being so powerful he made he whole universe in 6 days and knows every detail of everything in it. 2. Said being knows us all better than we know ourselves and loves us personally 3. This despite the fact that most of his children will never accept him and hence burn in hell 4. Loved his children so much he killed all of them in a flood, except for the family of one man 5. He had a son who could walk on water, raise the dead, die for the sins of others and an assortment of other neat-o tricks 6. His son died only to shake it off a couple days later and go hang with friends before physically rising into the sky 7. This is the only true and real set of beliefs approved of by God despite the fact that there are several other competing religions - some with the same being in a starring role and others with no real common ground ...believe this without the slightest whisper of a ghost of a shadow of evidence and yet ridicule science that seems to contradict them despite heaps of evidence to support it simply ARE delusional. +5

  • NO PHYSICAL PROOF
  • "delusion (plural delusions) 1. A false belief that is resistant to confrontation with actual facts. 2. The state of being deluded or misled. 3. That which is falsely or delusively believed or propagated; false belief; error in belief." Source and further information: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/delusion If atheists were thinking that what Christians believe were a true belief, they would not be atheists.
  • No...we know they are.
  • Frankly it's the christian belief system which does it, - your "god" is somewhat of a nutcase who seems to enjoy doing violent and pointless things for no good reason, your profits can never perform their magic to a skeptical audience, most of your present day religious leaders are either corrupt or certifiable nutcases or both. If you take those factors into consideration then what else can atheists think but that your spiritual ideology is something for cranks and buffoons to follow - not rational men & women. I mean no offense to you sir - but that's just the way I see your religion - sorry.
  • Why not?
  • Because they are. Delusions are beliefs without facts or in direct conflict with facts. . The world is not 6000 years old, it was not formed in 6 days, the order life was created is wrong, the flood story was stolen, so was the story of the savior, and MANY other things. . Christians are by definition delusional.
  • Vounteer to work on a mental ward as a christian duty and you'll see 12 Jesus Christs. 22 Satans 4 Virgin Marys a half Dozen Apostles and Maybe Joan d' Arc. People quoting scripture like Pat Robertson and reading your mind. It will give you pause to think. Who's crazier Them or me?
  • Because they are!
  • Because they are. People that hear voices in their heads are delusional. By the way, it's not just xtians. It's every religion. Mad! You're all mad!
  • Only insecure atheists claim that. Pushing others down is how insecure people make themselves feel better when they fear their ignorance may be exposed.   The irony is that President Obama is a Christian, and they would never say that to him.
  • I'll tell you what's delusional. Believing that:   1. A force which we still don't understand, gravity, self-generated and developed the ability to bond protons, neutrons, and electrons together to form atoms, and developed the mathematical relationship to control the movement of all mass in the universe.   2. Mathematics magically self-generated and evolved itself to be able to describe everything in the universe.   3. Radiance self generated and limited its speed to 186K mi/sec.   4. All the other forms of energy self-organized, and formed symbiotic relationships with mass and gravity.   All organized without any intelligence involved. Now, that's delusional.
  • It's because Christians forego the basic logical fashion, they believed before understanding. Scientifically speaking, it's a gamble, one that a logical being should not make
  • Lemme give you a straight answer. One believes in god while the other doesn't. Humans, being cynical of other belief, doesn't accept the other belief.
  • Delusion.
  • Not every atheist think that christions are delusional... you should really try seeing bolth points of veiws, keep your mind open.
  • because it's crazy to think of something that you can't see or feel [like touching not emotional feeling] as something logical.
  • B'coz they can prove they are delusional.
  • Delusion.
  • ........
  • I am a Christian and I sometimes think I'm delusional about my faith. But then I consider the alternative, which makes less sense to me, even if there is no scientific observable evidence of a God. And hence I revert to my original beliefs.
  • B/c Christians and most religious folks believe the world and humans were created by a Great Invisible Spirit, who follows us around to see what we're doing with our genitals.
  • Look up the meaning of 'delusion' in a dictionary & ask a psychiatrist! << Delusion [di lo’osh’n] (delusions) 1. false belief a persistent false belief held in the face of strong contradictory evidence, especially as a symptom of a psychiatric condition 2. mistaken notion a false or mistaken belief or idea about something >> * 10 proofs against existence of a ‘god-being’ 1. Non-humans who outnumber humans billion-to-one, don’t care for god in any way by prayer, worship, sacrifice / otherwise. 2. A particular god’s attributes are always reflected, or projected from —& limited to— those of its ‘prophets-priests-pimps’ & their believers. 3. If god can be ‘felt-in-heart’ or imagined-in-mind, so can be ‘devil’ & countless other emotions / concepts. 4. Humans who don’t care for god in any way by prayer, etc are unaffected by any god. 5. Nobody has perceived ‘god’ within 5 physical senses. 6. Believers in different ‘gods’ can coexist, survive, compete & kill each other & their gods are powerless. 7. All Gods have been ineffective in final resolution of inter-god disputes. 8. However all ‘different’ believers & non-believers are subject to natural forces equally. 9. Natural elements truly control matter ‘like god’. 10. Mankind today controls elements, disproving (dead or alive) god’s supremacy over matter (dead or alive)! Amen!
  • It's purely about faith. God cannot be proven to either exist or not exist. The atheists' beliefs are also faith. Faith that there is no higher power. Both could be delusional.
  • All sin came from one person eating a piece of fruit that was offered to her by a talking, dust eating snake.... Yup..that's delusional alrighty.
  • One day there will be no athiests.
  • Only people who can't mount a logical, coherent argument stoop to such name calling.
  • Why do Christians claim that atheists are immoral?
