  • Most will think he's a dick. Sort of like they do now.
  • He is, was and always will be an American embarrassment.
  • They might say that he had ideals that did not meet the needs of the times.
  • He will replace Nixon as the worst president in living memory.
  • Hopefully, as little as decently possible....
  • The Calvin Coolidge of the 21st Century.
  • Bush's speeches around history looking at him a little bit more favorably were a really lame last ditch attempt to look respectable. Bush was a very bad president by any standards, and historians will document his failures.
  • They say he helped us fight and defeat terror like no other President and survived the 2000 stock market fraud that Clinton let happen and finally say he had 6 or 7 years off a banging economy that was brought to an end by liberals who loane dmoney to people who could not afford houses causing a crash, or liberals suck.
  • He was the most down to earth, cared for the common man and his country..and definitely his OWN MAN..:)justme
  • no one could dodge shoes quite like him!
  • I'm the son of a history department head and a poli-sci graduate (who has a real job). I think history will view GWB as an incompetant, corrupt individual who circumstances made worse. There have been a number of such men in the history of the Republic but his stench will last a while (until the next one comes along).
  • I don't think he will be remember at all in 20 yrs. We will all have far better things to remember!
  • I think he will ba a joke. History teachers will laugh when they talk about him
  • Although much of the populace dissagreed with Bush's policies, we must remember that there was not one single enemy attack on American soil from 9/11/2001 to ?/?/2010.
  • Same thing they say now. It take 50 years or more before historians can make an unbiased assessment of a president and his policies.
  • We all know history will have nothing but bad things to say about Bush or not say anything at all about him.
  • George Walker Bush often argues that history will vindicate him. So he can’t be pleased with a survey of 109 professional historians conducted by the History News Network -- It found that 98.2% assessed the presidency of Bush to be a failure while 1.8% of them classified it as a succes -- Not only that, more than 61% of the historians say tBush’s ipresidency is the worst in American history
  • It will all depend on the body politic of the historians in 20 years. Will they be liberal or conservative. So-called "historians" are as fickle and biased as anyone else. I prefer to think for myself, and hold little faith or regard for the consensus of any appointed group. In any case, very close to age 71, I don't expect to be around in 20 years...but if I am, like today, I suspect I won't give a flyin' whatever what historians think about anything. +5
  • In 20 years, if his policies have not had lasting negative affects on the nation, he will probably be looked at the same way we look at Nixon. Its one hundred years from now that really matters.
  • Twenty years after Reagan people are still saying he was a great president. Likely there will be some old Bush supporters and baby neocons that will say he was a great president. There are still people revising history to make Hitler look like a great but misunderstood leader. All villains have their supporters. Rove and Cheney are touring the country rewriting history as I write this. Americans have a short memory and don't study history. Maybe the supporters and revisionists will die off in 50 years but I doubt it.
  • What a jerk he was as president.
  • Why be concerned what the future will speak about G.W Bush.............? To tell you the truth, the future will only speak about us. Say maybe in 2060 people will be wondering how stupid we were to elect this monkey twice ! that's a shame ! and I don't want to live then, thank God most of us die before we hit 90
  • He took the first step in a war against sudam and freed the iraqi people from oppression.
  • It's hard to think that people don't remember the damage that Nixon did but Americans have short memories. I suppose the same will happen with W Real history isn't studied as much as the history chanel is watched. Let us not forget
  • I'd imagine that over time the fervor surrounding his controversial decisions (uh...) would subside and a fairer assessment of his actions would be made. I'm no Bush fan by ANY measure, but I think he's gotten a significantly harsher rap. I mean, he at least did SOME good stuff.
  • I'm not sure about 20 years from now, but today: In an informal survey of 109 professional historians conducted over a three-week period through the History News Network, 98.2 percent assessed the presidency of Mr. Bush to be a failure while 1.8 percent classified it as a success. HNN Poll: 61% of Historians Rate the Bush Presidency Worst http://hnn.us/articles/48916.html http://thinkprogress.org/2009/02/15/bush-worst-cspan/ http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/06/bush.legacy/index.html
  • I don't know what they'll say, but it will be presented by Darth Vader's theme song. >_>
  • only time will tell lol
  • We can't say at this time. But I do not think he will be rated a successful or even good Pesident. He did keep the homeland safe from another terrorist attack after 9/11. But 9/11 occurred under his watch. From what I have read, he and Condaleeza Rice had warnings about an impending terrorist attack but apparently did not connect all the dots, or were asleep at the switch. He got us into the Iraqi war based on faulty intelligence and WMD that did not exist. He then handled it poorly for 4 years by sticking with Donald Rumsfeld who botched it up. It wasn't until Secretary Gates and General Petraeus took over that the situation stabilized. Because the war was handled poorly under Rumsfeld the U.S. had unnecessary casualties. He allowed the financial markets to go unregulated which caused a boom/bust cycle akin to 1929. He also tended to staff his administration with cronies and large GOP contributors instead of competent people. As a result, FEMA handled Hurricane Katrina poorly. On a whole, I think Bush did a lousy job.
  • he will probably get two sentences a whole paragraph if he is lucky!
  • The same things they say about him now.
  • He made Calvin Coolidge look articulate.
