  • Guitar making. Here is the one I did for my daughter. Still my fave. Edit: Would love to here a comment from the person who rated this answer down on Feb. 17, 2008. I would love to hear your justification for rating this as a non-helpful answer.
  • The first is an oil painting. It took me two years to finish. The second is a watercolor in progress, it's further along now. The next two are early colored pencil drawings I did when I was 16 years old, or maybe 17. The last two are bulletin boards I created for my children's school. They were hand drawn on construction paper, cut out, pasted together, and then applied to the board. I did about two dozen of these through the years. Now I wish I had taken pics of all of them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10-24-08 Update: I've moved into the world of digital art. Kyogre-Stataen http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/1755027 is my inspiration for this new adventure. His work is wonderful. I purchased Photoshop a few months ago, so I am a novice. The three portraits of the women below are my first attempts at painting a piece from scratch with Photoshop. As you can see, they are the same portrait, just altered. Hair, for me, is hard to do at this time, thus the scarf. LOL OK, well the upload feature doesn't seem to be working right now, so I will just post a link to them on Photobucket and try again later. Be sure to click on full view so the image will not be distorted, and thanks for taking a look. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t204/retroglide/Hamlin%20Aquarium/scarfmerged.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t204/retroglide/Hamlin%20Aquarium/sadness.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t204/retroglide/Hamlin%20Aquarium/yester-years.jpg

  • Poetry #1 remember now in my haste of leaving you it was not my hatred that betrayed so much as my love of freedom #2 she drank india ink instead of wine... contrary to what one would think it ended up being a fantastic time lived in the country and watched the sun rise for years on end it was all working up to this the perfect bliss in the peachiness of morning skies

  • I have a couple, but my favorite is probably poetry. Here’s one that I wrote a few years ago. Hope you like it. Crying Shame by Patrick D. McCallister (aka Metaphiz) Today I was watching the news You know, no one can sing the blues Like Brokaw, and his college, Ted There was a drive-by today Down in a some suburb of L.A. They didn’t get what they were aiming for But a little girl is dead And Malibu went up in flames The rich traded ashes for fame Someone tried to burn life A mansion got in the way While out there in the desert sticks We sell guns and politics We’ll have to rinse our money of the blood But who says crime doesn’t pay Someone said, “Let’s kill the man on the hill, And we’ll live like kings on his written will But it isn’t even really worth the fuss Because, as it happened before It’ll happen again Another idealist will have a master plan To rule the world when it doesn’t even belong to us So, what do you think of my point of view It’s a high rise vision of sh** made into stew Did it taste better to you When you thought it was a meal Or did you listen to the politically correct With their insipid whining Their signs erect Picket sign reflecting the way they feel It’s a crying shame When our children don’t grow old We’ll be to blame But not to worry the dust will reclaim us by then And we’ll be free While they stay to pay for our sin

  • Mostly photography. I'm not very good at it, I just go out on walks with my cheap little camera and snap shots of whatever happens to catch my eye. #1-A drain dumping into the bayou that runs through my neighborhood. #2-Just an average tree, on an average street corner, with an average stop sign in the background. #3-An abandoned building that used to house a bank in the 70s, but has now been abandoned and neglected for decades. #4-A stair landing in the outdoor walkways of the local baptist church. #5-The cornerpiece of the fence surrounding an old abandoned house.

  • Believe this self soothe world aflame with malice, maybe started spinning far too fast to soothe a mournful soul. Silent, if you haven't heard tears echo in their lovely laughter. Voices sweetly singing guarded, tedious by time. Reflecting by the talking trees, the dew streaked grass a slippery seat. "It's almost time for Johnny Jump-ups" someone said so long ago.. ...Voices, so sweet, so tender in their tone. Packed inside my paper suitcase. "How I've loved you, How I've missed you, And how's my baby? So glad you came". Written for my dead grandparents.

  • 1. Poetry -- example: You can be a beauty queen, Anything you want to be! Just don’t forget that I am there To help you reach the throne. Cold inside your throat, I say, Come on, get it over with; Clean yourself From inside out And twist your gleaming bones. I am snakes and seashell skins, I am happy emptiness, I was always such a perfect Slithering little thing. Hurl your dirty insides out-- Cute little perfectionist; It’s the only possible Way to do them in. 2. Drawing and sometimes painting -- examples:
  • I like photography, mostly I snap pictures of my kids, other peoples' kids, and sometimes I go for a hike and take pictures of nature.
  • I have to say that drawing is one of the many things I hold in my treasures. I won't mind sharing the drawing process. Something that usually still gets into my mind are Pokemon, but also with other uses as well too. I begin first by sketching. I first select the pokemon I wish to draw. I begin using light sketches, then gradually adding the detail. Then comes the color. I carefully select what colors to choose. I don't color everything and I color very soft so that I can program the drawing in the 3rd step. Then comes the programming. First, I carefully scan the picture, about 25 times. From there, I select the drawing with the best quality and details. Then I use the programming using part Photoshop to fix the errors and add more detail. Then I go to a special rendering program to greatly add the detail. If necessary, I go back to Photoshop again to finish the rest of the drawing. The last step, is to sign the picture. I sign it, along with the date. Now I have a cosign, usually backed up with my drawing partner. Anyways, here are many of the posted drawings that I made. There are just some examples to show, along with many others as well. There was this new one I made finished on Thanksgiving. Took me more than 5 weeks to finish, but I got it done. UPDATE on 2/10/08 I have made some better drawings on my own, so I decided to replace some of my old drawings with newer ones. I hope that you would like these new changes. Key *=Cosign with a partner 1.Mightyena and Poochyena 2.Delibird 3.Celebi* 4. Trophuis* 5. Charizard 6. Shaymin* 7. Moltres* 8. Articuno* 9. Lugia* 10. Ho-oh* 11. Arceus and Mew 12. Lucario
